I haven't played SRO since the 80 cap, and I've been wondering about Glavie builds.
As I've heard, Fire\Light has become obsolete, and the options are basically Force\Fire and Ice\Fire?
If so, which skills would it be recommended not to get in the Ice or Force trees, or, until which level should you get certain skills? Are there other builds better than these two?
Also, would it be more advisable for a Pure STR character to go for Protector, or for Garment?
A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
In Cold, you basically need only Ice Guard, Passive, Ice Wall maxed and Snow Shield only first book(you can max the first book i guess, but not further).
In Force your most important skills are the Debuffs. You should also get the Passive and Force Cure(will be very helpful in pvp).
Heals may also come in handy(first book) and i also have taken Therapies and Ress. I only haven't taken the other ppl heals and party member cure. All the skills u take in Force should be maxed.

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
Sweet, thanks.
Oh and, lightning is completely out of the question, right?
I'm leaning more towards preferring Ice, if lightning is indeed something I should get rid of. Which one (Force or Ice) is better for what?
And what's the point of Ice Wall?

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
Lightning/Fire/Heuksal is more like a PvE build, it won't do so well in PvP.
Ice will give you more phy def and dmg mp consumption. It is good in PvP.
Force gives you more def, atk, hit and parry by putting debuffs on enemies. It is the best glaive build in pvp.
Ice wall absorbs phy dmg. So if u have it on and an enemy hits hard with a phy attack, he hits quite much, but the dmg you recieve is much smaller or 0 because of the nice amount of hp of the wall. When the hp of the wall runs out, it disappears. Mag attacks don't do so much dmg to the wall and it takes a lot of dmg to take it off. Ice wall is also very good against warlocks cos they can't put a single debuff on you when you have the wall on(DoTs still go on though) and they can't take it off either since they only have mag attacks.
Fire wall is the other way around, it absorbs mag attacks and so on.

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
Alright, thanks a lot for the explanations.
At what level does PvP become a viable option? I'm unsure how to plan this out.
Right now, I'm farming at level 54, Fire\Light\Heuk all at 45. I'm not sure whether to just de-level light and switch to force or ice now, or to wait for much later.
What reason is there to take Ice over Force if Force is the best PvP build?

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
It depends on ur serv when u can find enough ppl to PvP with. If u find enough ppl, u can PvP at any lvl.
I'm a lvl 54 force glaiver and i don't do much PvP yet cos i cant find many ppl to PvP with at Sama South atm. And i also hate those noob high lvls.
You may also go Heuksal110/Fire110/Lightning80/Cold30 if u like. That build is good in PvE and in PvP as well(more in group PvP than in 1on1).
Force isn't so good in ISRO as it is in other versions. Debuffs don't work against Euro Cleric chars who have maxed Holy Word/Spell cos in ISRO the skill's status prevent probability is 100% and in other versions it's 50%. But Force can still help if u are against a Cleric in ISRO. You can heal urself and cure statuses(in case u have these skills). So that's the reason that Cold is more reliable in isro.

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
Ah, I see. What made you choose Force despite that?
Also, is it recommended to get the Ice imbue despite using Fire as the main one?
Damn. I'm still unsure of what to do with this.

Re: A bunch of questions about Glavie builds.
I took Force cos it appealed to me more than Cold and it's not as boring as Cold imo. And i wanted to get something cool for sacrificing Light and speed.
I wouldn't recommend taking Cold imbue. It will have no effect on Clerics and the statuses can be pilled off easily. I prefer Fire imbue for damage to Cold imbue for Freeze/Frostbite. Also, Burning status is better imo, since Freeze/Frostbite is only Restriction series(prevents the enemy of hitting u/adds more potting time for u) and Burning status acts like a DoT(deals extra damage on ur enemy, don't remember what series Burning was, mby Weakening). Fire imbue deals significantly more damage than Cold imbue.
