Hello people, I am new to the game, just started last night. I found this site and looked at some of the stickied topics. The system is looking very complicated so far, and I don't understand anything lol.

So I'm going to tell what I have done, and ask what you suggest :-)

So far, I'm level 7, and I've spent all my character points on inteligence.
My weapon of choice is spear, I'm using a long crescent that I found yay :-)

I've spent some skill points on the spear ability, and I've got the first skill, wolf bite spear, I think.

I hope you have the time to give me some advice, thank you very much :love:

Well... you can go with pure int and have no health, but be a huge dmg dealer. At 30 you get special elemental attacks we call nukes. They do tons of dmg in a short amount of time. Assuming that you stay a pure int, you will have trouble with health, so stick with armor. ^_^ Other then that I don't know too much more to tell you.

I would recommend reading all the stickys in this area of forum related to nukes and sp farming before you invest any more sp. there very helpful in building your character.Your on your way to being a very strong nuker.would recommend getting a bow for now and sp farming, see sticky. good luck

I'm reading those stickies, and they are very helpful, yet some details are unclear for me.

If it was possible for some spear user to post some information, that would be great!

I'm using right now a level 8 bow and armor. I'm level 11 and I can kill Yeohas very easily, as long as they don't touch me. Young tigers are a big pain because they are fast and come to melee combat and one of them can almost kill me.

So, I'm wondering, should I stay on Yeohas, even though the experience and the drops aren't great anymore, or spend tons of potions and try to take young tigers?

Just grind on what you're comfortable with. I'm a 5x spear pure int, so if you have any specific questions, ask.
I'd also like to recommend only getting the 1st lvl of wolf bite since it is an extremely useless skill for your build @ l8r lvls.
If you plan to sp farm @ the den keep your masteries @ 7.

If u shall grind, grind green mobs. Otherwise do your quests.
And i dont think u shall up any skills in spear. Only get the lightning and fire nuke at lvl 30. Get the spear passive. ( its in the bottom of the spear skill tree) And i'd get the soul and ghost spear too. But not sure for a nuker.

W3GAN: I'm not doing any quests yet. When I was trying to find General Sonny-something, someone told me I could do all of the Jangan quests much faster once I hit level 20 or something. As I'm 11 now, I think it doesn't hurt to wait a bit more :-)

cyrax: Thanks for offering your advice. I'd be grateful if you could indicate me your favourite spearmanship skills, or if you could screenshot your skills window if you aren't willing to type much :-)

As you have probably read many guides already, you know that the more int stats you have in your build, the stronger magical att's will be. This includes your imbue. A lot of people say it's pretty useless to get spear skills since you're a nuker....that is total bs. Nukes have a charge time, most spear skills do not. If your life comes down to the line, that last ghost spear could save your life.
Must get skills:
Spear HP Passive
All of Soul Spear - Does the most damage in 1 hit (2 in last book)
All of Ghost Spear - One of the fastest att's in sro
Plus, both thus skills have usefull side effects: SS can stun an opponent - he can't att, and GS can knock someone back giving you breathing room and time for you to pot.
Any other skills are optional. The only other skills in heuk I have is lvl1 of dragon flow, pretty useful and will max the series once i sp farm @ a higher lvl.
And whatever you do, don't waste a single sp on the incredibly useless Fan Spear Series

Actually, as annoying as he is, CW has demonstrated that maxed nuke dmg reduction is a decently useful thing to have.

It means I'm in the 50's lvl range, a spear user, and pure int

cyrax, I take that I shouldn't go further in the wolf bite spear or its series? Thanks for the sugestion.

I just hit level 15 using an 8 gap during 14, now I'm keeping it at 8 during this level and when I hit 16 I'm going to let it at 9 to do the famous farming at the stronghold.

As wolf bite spear and and river fire force combined make good damage, I'm guessing whether a level 16 SOS spear would be good for the stronghold farming, or if the bow is a must have?

A bow is a must-have ^^. I actually had a sos spear and sword, but found out that even with a normal bow it goes much faster. The reason why was:

The speed at which you lvl depends on:
- the time it takes to kill a mob
- the time it takes to run to a mob

With a spear you kill the mobs a bit faster, but because it takes much longer to attack the next mob you still lvl slow compared to someone who uses a bow.

At the den, you seriously won't have to move an inch if you buy a pet to pick up your goods.
If you're playing on an established server a sos bow might take you 1-2kk depending on good stats and crit. New server would be a little lower.
And if you're serious about this game, and go the bow route, don't be afraid to put some masteries into pacheon so you'll hit harder.

You could just start farming allready, though it'll take even longer now. I'd never advise a new player to go farming though.. it'll make you feel like the game is a bore.. and probably will make you quit. Anyways a SOS bow is almost a must-have these days, with all the KS-ing going on.. So i don't know, up to you.

I'm killing tigers now.. to gain money for a good bow. They still die in:
- imbue - anti-devil bow - 2 arrow combo -

You can also farm at 18/21 on normal bandits. They give lower sp, but alot nicer drops and are mostly less crowded.

I'm new to the game myself, ( lvl 23 hybrid spear) but I've read a lot of the information on the forums and I agree with Priam and his suggestion to not sp farm as a new player. You could level with a smaller gap the whole game, that's what I'm doing, like a 3-5 gap depending on how much sp you need by end game.

I do recommend completing the quests while you grind, since you'd have to grind twice as much to get the quest drops, although it is a good way to make money. (Stall all your equipment drops at town for mad money)

After that its up to you, when you get to the 20's the game starts to open up, you can grind then stall, do trade runs, save up for nice equips, etc.

actually pure STR can also nuke, but not so often becuz their lack in MP, so if u want to nuke and be a pure str get shit load of MP potion, lol wasting money i know

NO..pure str CANNOT nuke...NEVER nuke.....its just waste of sp to invest..they do like no dmg wit it....just look @ ur mag balance and ur character...see that u have more str than int? its a sign that its dumb for a pure str to nuke..

but in this case we talkin about pure int spear..

rofl....typical high lvl nukers probly nukes em like 4-5k but ya i seen some farmed high str want to play nukes for fun and its kinda cute when they do that...saw 2 str do nuke wars and i cracked up.
