The real advantage of walls in pvp?
I have both fire and ice walls maxed to my lvl [82] and noticed that they're not very helpful at pvp at all. At the beginning I'll cast up a wall, ice or fire depending on who I'm fighting. And they disappear in around 1-2 hits. I tried casting it in the middle of a pvp, I kb'd and cast a wall and it disappears straight away. I don't know if this is just a bug on ECSRO or on all sro versions.
So my question is, as a bower is it really worth spending sp on lvling BOTH walls?
On a side note, I use them in pve sometimes too and works just fine, doesn't disappear after I just cast it.

it depends on who your fighting.
ice wall is very usefull against warlocks ;D..thats about it i think lol. i rarely use mine against str chars...
fire wall is nice against bowers who KB like cowards. it's also nice to use firewall if ur pvping a wiz to absorb the first nuke or w/e. also great against rogues who use the KD + stab method or warriors.
and yea sometimes it happens to me too...i'll recast it in middle of pvp and it'll dissappear immediately..i think its either a bug or maybe your mp was too low (walls take mp).

Well I play on ECSRO so no Euros.
And I don't think MP is a problem because I have lots of it ^^

Spamming the wall will cause it to disappear right away.
The walls are usefull if you use them the right way, use Ice against ints to block stats and kd/kb/stun. Fire wall is nice against bowers/bladers/glaives. It blocks 2/3/4 kb's of a bower, several kd's or chains from a blader and quite some skills from glaives.
Casting fire wall for ints is mainly to take one nuke so you get a bit more time to recover hp same for ice wall against str chars.

I never spam them, I'm not a button masher. I'll just tap it once after I use kb. However, I do do the other stuff you mention - fire against str builds and ice against ints.
That didn't really answer my question though, is it worth spending sp on? Or is it better to just max one, or leave them both out?

Both are usefull so I would max them but if you only got the sp/want to farm the sp for just one wall I'd take fire.

Funny, I'd take lvl 1 fire and max ice. Or get both to the last book, lvl 83 or so.
Thing is, lvl 1 ice wall won't take all of the dmg from a phy attk cept euro since chn has imbue. lvl 1 fire wall will however take full power of a nuke.

Which is why ice wall is shit lol. I would just max fire wall. Like moshe said, it will take skills from spear nukers, glaivers, bladers, and s/s nukers.

Yeah, that's fine. It would be a bit overpowered if it can take like 3. But saying that, it can take like 2 chains, 2 knock downs, 3 knock backs. I reckon that makes up for it

2 Blader chains, 1 Int chain.
The Fire Wall is mostly for str chars, like I said a maxed fire wall can take 3/4 kb's from a bower (with +5/7 bow, not sun or anything).

I think lvl 1 fire is a waste, sure it takes a nuke but it helps shit against other builds.
Also the difference between lvl 1 and lvl 6 fire wall (4th book) is pretty big in terms of tanking str attacks.

Fire wall works well against pretty much any build. Rogue can't kd and kb, warrior the same, saves you from a wiz nuke, warlock same as wiz, and we already pointed out the pros when vsing chinese.

lvl 1 fire wall will NOT help against pure str attking builds. Only one it would be effective would be chn pure str due to imbue. I'd like to see a fire wall's mag abs help you with a warrior or a rogue. If all you want is to prevent kd kb, than lvl 1 will still work. Wiz nuke or warlock attk will still bring the wall down in 1-2 hits. Not much of a diff between lvl 1 or maxed. Only advantage you gain in maxing fire wall is for pure str chn characters. Don't say maxed fire wall will help again'st rogue kb kd. The moment you cast a wall, they can just run out of range and kill you. Wall restricts you to a pretty small range.
lvl 1 ice wall can help with pure str attking builds. It will absorb all of the dmg of a rogue or warrior. Warlocks would have more trouble taking it down. It is useless against a wizard, but very useful against pure str chn, and pure int chn.

It won't help against a rogue, it does help against a warrior. Yes you don't need it maxed for that effect but it still helps being maxed since it takes longer for them to take it down with their cleric rod. Also it helps against str chinese chars. In the end I'd just max both but that's just me =]

Depends how the rogue pvps; Most high lvl rogues use kd then they switch to daggers. But then again, if they don't use daggers, they WILL have more range than you lol, so you're fighting an xbower. Bleh ..
