Need some advice for my Wiz

Post by Hannya »

Hi,

I'm playing a wiz/bard that I started when the server opened. Took a longer break then and am now lv99 heading towards lv100. I really like jobbing as a hunter and everything was good a few month ago, because there were less FF/capped str-chars.

Nowadays I'm having troubles as soon as I encounter said chars (< D10/95+ is no problem). If I'm lucky I can 1hit them by beeing invisible and by using LT, but that's the case for like 50%. :(

Now I'm thinking about switching my subclass or maybe even my main to become more competetive. Only problem I see so far is the lack of SP I have.

I really could use some advice from experienced players here! Wiz/lock? Wiz/cleric? bard/cleric? .... :?:

In fact I've already done that. I farmed myself a chn. bow, but got tired of farming when I reached around 600k SP, then I p-lvld him and again got tired when he reached lvl ~80.

It just takes too long and since I've already invested a lot of time into my wiz (and since I had a lot of fun with him in the beginning) I'd rather get everything I can out of him. But thx for your comment.

Any other opinion?

if you want more survivability take wiz cleric
if you want even more dmg take lock
i guess you should know the (dis)advantages of each build since you are lvl 99.

EDIT: and i guess going with LA

Well, I know them in theory, but I've never played a warlock before. I could only imagine that stun/sleep for example could get me the time to kill my oponents as could bless spell and heal from cleric.

But since that's just theory I'd rather have advice from people who already played such builds and therefore are more experienced than me.

LA is a good idea. I'm going to think about that.

I swear... lvl 99 and you still expect to pwn with a solo wizzard.... :banghead:

There will be some people out there with godly gear and snow that will allow them to tank your hits. Having cleric only helps slightly. My friend let me pvp on his sun +7 staff wiz, with 2 moon +8 pieces and the rest includign acc are +6-+7 and he still dies pretty dam fast. FF 100 wiz/cleric.

If you truly believed that you could 1-hit anyone with a wizard with LT, you must not have "played" for very long. You could only do it at the start of this cap since most people don't bother pimping a set until 3rd tier. Once you have a set +5 or higher with FB, it's still pretty hard to kill players that aren't afk. Hell, with lvl 95 equip and lvl 90 Snow and Ironwall, 100 ff sun dagger hit me for like 12k crit. No SOX.

Lol, you should calm down and read a bit more carefully Goseki.

My request was to get some advice how I could become more competetive based on other players experiences - not why my wiz can't 1hit anyone anymore - and which way/build would be the best to achieve that.

Well at least you included some useful information based on your friend's sun wiz, so thanks for that.

If you want a PVP char, which seems what you want, you may want to choose warlock over cleric...
First, debuff with warlock (you can survive a little longer thanks to shield and Vampire Kiss), then sleep/stun and nuke the sh1t out of him with lt. Works only for 1 vs 1, though. Might work for three players sometimes, since you can sleep 3 chars at once.

Well if you've been looking at euro pvp, it's pretty obvious. Nothing is as good of a sub right now as cleric. Why? Warlock would be in competitive pvp, but with 100% resist on holy word, you won't really be doing much. So giving up heals, bless, and rec division for disease and the reflect. Until JM balances all the classes and race, clerics are over-powered.

Lvl 99 and you think you're not experienced enough yourself?
Anyways.
In your case i'd go with cleric, since you like jobbing and pvp. Nothing more to say.
