Dual axe/Warlock?? i need some advice

Post by deaddj4th »

Hello :)

so basically im fairly new to silkroad, i've been playing for about 2 months and ive got a pure str dual axe character at lvl 35. but just recently, i think i might have made an error by choosing a warlock sub.

So i basically just want your opinions. like whether i should change by dlvling or start over with a new character or whatever. it'd be cool to hear your opinions :P
thanks

DA / Lock could work, actually....

Since you have DA, you already have, what I like to say, 1/2 of a holyspell with the DA Passive.

Though, since isro's holyspell is different, that and panic doesn't go through anymore, you'll have a hard time dealing with anyone with a cleric sub and uses it fully to their advantage.

Though against people that aren't immune, you'll rip them apart. For those who are semi-immune (pills / force users) they'll be a lil' bit a pain in the ass, but you can still win, granted you know what you're doing.

that's the kinda general concensus that ive heard is that you get owned by cleric subs, but tbh i play with a couple of friends in party play and im not really looking to pvp which is why i think ive made the mistake, i probably should've mentioned that earlier. For that i apolagise. So, seen as i only realy play for said party play and for some general fun. should i have chosen warlock?

heres another take on my situation. i was in a party of 3 at the ong habitat, and i was using my debuffs on a blood ong giant party. i found that once i had used them and switched to my axes it wasnt making that much of a difference and the debuffs ran out quickly, so i just stayed with my axes and let the nuker do the majority of the damage while i was just acting like the tanker (who is a warrior/cleric 2h) and thus i felt regret for turning warlock. although i thought about it and pondered wether its just cos im lvl 35 that my debuffs arent that effective and that they would get better as i grew in lvls.
what dya think? thanks for the reply and noobish question, whats isro's??? lol dont call me a noob

ISRO = the version of Silkroad Online ...in this case, International ...while the others are ksro, koren sro, tsro, taiwanese sro, csro, chinese sro, jsro, japanese sro....etc, etc

As for the pt play part ....here's the thing, relative on the conditions of the party setup:

If you're in a general working pt...you know ...cleric, damage dealers, tanker / lurers, buffers (bard) ....you should just act as a warrior, not going to your sub ...

in 8/8 you really got one role to play (rogue can play two) ...being a warrior, you should just keep on Vital Increase and put the fences on the ints (mainly the cleric / wiz and give the at least one other pain quota)....you're the tanker, you're basically there to keep aggro (mob's attacks) on yourself and not the ints.

But for that 8/8 setup, I'm speaking more in terms of everyone being at max 11 levels below the mobs. However, in small pts where you're with a few people and are the same level range of the mobs around, you could switch to your sub...just remember to use Magical Raze (so ints do more damage), Combat Raze (might deaggro off you, makes it so it hits lower), Courage Raze (you'll get this later on), and Decayed (Bleed DoT)...just remember, you're not really a damage dealer, keep that in mind.

People normally go w/ the warlock sub for more of the choice in pvp than for pve.

Though, the warlock sub gets more helpful once you get Courage Raze (Division status) ....add weaken, decay, dull and stun (since you're warrior) and bleed on a mob, the damage is hightened a lot over your average damage.

reread his post... you've been given a very thorough and well built reply.

it does make a difference in pve, only NOT in hardcore best-quality parties (the like of which you have never seen probably, nor will (my guess))

in these top-quality parties, people hunt mobs 11 levels above their own lvl and each player has a very definite role.
The tank plays the tank role and he can't let his warrior buffs turn off on others in order to use his warlock debuffs... warrior buffs are incredibly important in a party, you dont turn them off if it is a serious party otherwize the INTs die rapidly.

on the other hand, if it's a loose party where people can survive without warrior buffs without too much trouble, you can use your warlock debuffs for big mobs with profit (party giants, notably, would be the best opportunity to use them in order to speed up their killing)

now if you need a dumbing down of my dumbing down of the guy's reply... go to school;-)
and use your head instead of restarting characters.
