Archer Build

Im new to forums and new to Silkroad, right now i have a lvl 20 Pure Str/Glaive/Fire and thinking about building an archer.

But my question is what build should i pick, someone recommended cold because you can slow the enemy and do more damage before he gets to you. I was thinking fire but my main character is using fire. Maybe lightning? Seems like lighting would be good, but im not sure.

Cold is good in PVE, and in early PVP, but as you level more and more people will be ice imune, and it will cause you a lot of frustration. Fire is a good idea because it does the most damage and you will want the damage passive and buffs. Lightning is mandatory because of grasswalk, and has side bonuses such as +parry and +mag damage (not much for a str but every bit helps, especially when trying to kill an enemy before it gets to you). Reading the 2 stickied guides is also a good idea. But if you don't want to read, generally you can't go wrong with fire as main (imbue) and light as secondary, for a pure str. (and picking light only is a bad idea because 13% extra dmg is A LOT). But given enough sp you might as well take all three.

Okay, ill read the stickies, i figured fire for damage, and maybe ice will be good against monsters but i guess theres monsters that are immune to ice eventually, so ill try Fire, but more so fire then light. Thx.

Monsters are NEVER ice immune. Monsters do not unipill. If you dont like pvp that much ice could work for you. It saves pots, and lets you tank a lot more. But you are a str so you can tank quite a lot anyway and fire definatelly kills faster.
