Imbue Question...

Post by orlandu63 »

I don't know how to word this so I will just start off with the math. Keep in mind that I'm pure int.

Basic Attack: 9-8;
Basic Attack /w Imbue: 64-61;
Strike n' smash: 42;
Strike n' smash /w Imbue: 177;
Illusion chain: 3-15-34;
Illusion chain /w Imbue: 34-54-156;
Imbue: Ice river force lvl. 4

Since imbues grant int-based damage, why does everything here seem so wrong..? For example, with Illusion Chain, I hit 34 on the last strike, but when I imbue it, I hit 156; on the other hand, the difference between my imbued basic attack and basic attack is noticably smaller.

Anyone know why?

answered your own question...

basically imbue adds magical damage = higher overall dmg

the imbue isn't a fixed amount of damage applied to the damage an attack would do without.

it's applied before the modifiers of the attack.

so if you got a move that does double the normal attack damage it would be something like this:

attack 10 damage
attack imbued 10+5 = 15 damage
difference: 5

special move 20 damge
special move imbued (10+5)*2 = 30 damage
difference: 10

Basicly imbue does make a bigger differnce because it's applied before the damage modifier of an attack.

(Because of what use would an imbue be that would add only a flat amount of damage to every attack.. attacks wich takes like 3 seconds (big nukes) wouldn't profit)
