Bard guide

Old cleric guide, but still useful

I have a 76 bard/cleric (or cleric/bard, I am trying to keep the masteries the same so I can stay in light armor) and can solo pretty quickly in bard. The lack of physical defense is ok, if I get a GP or multiple mobs I just switch to cleric. Recovery Division is useful for bard along with Holy Word for fire/lightning reduce.

Grinding as bard is easy, no MP pots consumed (with proper application of Mana Cycle) and Guard Tambour helps reduce damage.

edit: Light armor, with the cleric passives it's usually enough. I might switch to robe eventually for the speed and healing passives, but man it's expensive in 8/9d stuff.

ok what about pvp? And should I go full int or hybrid with 1:2 or each 2 lvl 1 to str? I guess finding party for bard/cleric is pretty easy?

PVP's ok, you need a decent set. I don't PVP much, but I'm hard to kill except for those higher than me. Keep in mind Euro's were meant for group PVP. Single's not as much fun and you will definitely die more often as a support build.

Going hybrid is up to you. I wouldn't recommend it as your damage output suffers. I put 5 levels in for a little more HP and probably wouldn't do it again. On the plus side, definitely last longer in a party if something goes majorly wrong. Very good party play and support build.

Finding a party for a bard/cleric is pretty easy. However, if you have a sub, make sure you tell them up front, or people may expect you to do moving/swing march, a dance, guard tambour, plus recovery division and buffs, and int/str buffs drop when you switch to your harp.

FARM that puppy too. This build is fairly SP intensive if you want maxed skills at 90. Otherwise pick one or the other to be a sub, and stick with your plan.

if you plan on doing any pvp at all go pure.

if you wear LA and are in cleric mode most of the time you have a ton of defense.

pvping as a cleric is tough
but you can do it.

use bind skills as much as possible and learn how to switch after 2x absolute and trial cross for booming wave.

also, you will be loved by parties. always get one hehe
