What's the level that you can be attacked while trading? I remembered they released a patch where characters doing a 1 star run can be attack if they're too high lvled, just forgot waht the lvl was.

Traders under lv40 cant be attacked when they are doing 1*, unless they bought the special prices goods.

Is it even worth the efford to do 1 star trades??

It depends if you use camel or horse or a item mall transport. I should say around 100 k profit for a trade Constanz to Samarkand. If there are 20% taxes in Jangang don't trade implying Jangang, the gains from a 1* horse Jan to Don are practically zero.
You can do about 2 trades per hour for 2 cities. You have also the special goods, the distance Jan to Stronghold isn't huge and the normal mobs are really softies. A 5* constanz to samarkand with camel is worth 1 mio gold.
