How is this as a build?

Post by Atsushi »

I am new to the game and have spent most of the past couple days scouring the forums. A lot of the gameplay reminds me of RF Online with PTs, but instead you have SP to distribute. It seems I have been spending points as I get them, which is too soon and I should be stockpiling them up so give lower exp gain but higher SP gain. I'm not too high so that should be able to be corrected now.

It looks like the Skill Masteries only give up to 300 points and although a person could do 5 60, they won't be as effective in higher levels. I figured my primary weapon is going to be Glaive since I primarily appear to be a Str build. So I figured I'd do something like:

Heuksal : 80
Fire : 80
Bow : 60
Force : 50
Lightning : 30

I figured since I'm doing strength and I want to do damage, Glaive and Heuksal would be good. I've read fire is a good combination because of its damage effects. Since I will be partnering with my wife's character I figured having the ability to heal and rezz would be good, so I would level up force. The Bow I picked as a secondary weapon, ranged attack for pulls and they get a hawk ^_^ Lightning was merely just taken for the Wind Walk ability mostly.

Most of my points will be going into Str with an occasional point probably every 10 levels or so in Int.

Does this sound like it would be effective or could be a decent build? Opinions, ideas on what to change, etc would be appreciated. Thank you.

before others spam it with their opinion on your build, i can only encourage you to do with you think is good for your char and will give you loads of fun as well :D

but still gonna give my 2 cents about ur build:

better to go pure ALL THE WAY
choose ONE primary weapon mastery to use
when using force, either go all the way for levelcap ressing so you can make friends everywhere you go or just drop it.
light is essential, even for a str based build!

My primary weapon mastery most likely will be Heuksal because it goes well with Str base and has good damage. I didn't go Force all the way since my wife was going to go Force all the way, since we'll be grouped together mostly I figured I wouldn't need to do it. But having the ability to heal and rezz is useful for when we are fighting. By light being essential, I assume you mean lightning?

So maybe something more like :

Heuksal : 80
Force : 80

Fire : 60
Lightning : 50
Bow : 30

I could drop bow completely but for roleplay purposes, the hawk fits well... just not being a bow user as primary. LOL! If I dropped Bow, then I could go Fire: 80, Lightning: 60. Hhhhmm not sure yet though.

After playing with a different character and experimenting a little... I am thinking probably something more like this would be better for a Str based warrior class.

Heuksal : 80
Fire : 80
Force : 80
Lightning : 60

yeah i do suggest that you lvl up force a lot if youre working close 2gether with youre wife. I play a lot with my brother and while trading and bumping into a waaaaaaay higher trader wich offcourse spwans a thief that hunts us. 1 can run away and res the other when its safe to return. I do think force is a usefull skill, for ressing and those lovely cirkels
