Dual axe protection

^^ I used search but didn't get much of an answer.
I have cleric sub, holyword lvl 2 which is 100%..
So would getting the protection passive of dual axes be useless? it's half of holy word at 50%.. so total would be 150% but I'd assume 100% is really all that matters ;s
If anyone knows if it would help with an s/s bleed or a warlocks.. DoT that causes bleed, that'd be great.
