Blader vs. Bower vs. Glaiver?

Post by DeathBeforeDishonor »

Okay well as I'm full farming my Chinese str character I wanna be certain
to pick the right build. I kinda have always like bladers but I know that
I couldn't put up with a build that can't really kill others. I'm considering
making a bower or maybe even glaiver. Probably not a glaiver though. So here
are a few questions I have

#1 - Could a bower be succesful in PvP with higher ice than lightning
Example: something like 68 Ice, 52 Light? Something around there, give or
take a few levels. I know bowers use light to keep distance between them
and thier enemies. But would being able to tank that much more be better
than a few phantom meters, a little parry ratio and a bit better move speed?

#2 - Using force for blade/bower/glaiver.. Would a blader be good with
froce because of the vital spot and all that? Might be able to do some
damage? Would a bower be any good with force? My guess is no unless your
a healer.. Thats not what I wanna be though. Also Glaiver with force?
Yay or nay?

#3 - As a bower what would I have trouble killing in PvP?

And if there is any other addition key things I probably don't know could you please add them to :) Thanks for helping.

Bladers own at this cap, quad stab will kill anyone, maybe not on the first KD but the only thing a Blader will die from is a force glaive with VERY good gear.

I saw a lvl 90 blader with a 85+5 blade and shield vs a lvl 90 glaive with a 85+11 yes +11 pvp a few days ago. The blader won the first fight and the glaive won the 2nd so even with worse equip the blader can still own anyone.

I have a feeling that it would have been a very very long pot fight.

I was just about to make a Topic just like this. I was also wondering, which Chinese Str build would be best at PvP at FF 90. I have heard from numerous people that have 90 FF chars that Bladers own at 90cap because of the 4th stab (as the above post says) and phy atk increase. So as of now, im siding towards Blader.

Just recently I saw a 90 FF Blader with Sun Blade/Shield PvP against a 90 FF Archer with Sun Bow, however the Archer had lvl 80+ cleric buffs, and heals. It was a pot fight (even though the blader did a 17k crit), mainly because if the Archers health went low, he would get healed. So Archer + Cleric Vs Blader = Pot War, then Archer vs Blader, the Blader would surley win?

Btw, why isn't there a Blader 90 Bicheon/90 Light/90 Fire/ 30 Cold option? I would choose that build, however im not sure whether 90 Force instead of 90 Light would be stronger.

Can someone please tell me whats better out of these to builds?

Bich/fire/force 90, Cold or light 90
or
Bich/fire 90, ice around 70, light around 50

Force is for Blader (maybe bower too), IMO. With force, a blader has LOTS of ways to inflict different statuses (2 ways for bleed, division and impotent). Bowers crit very hard with force but they somewhat lack defense.

Also, glaivers need high ice, so there's no place for force with a glaiver.
Builds:
90 fire / 90 force / 90 bicheon (or, maybe pacheon) / 30 ice (can go STR hybrid with a blade too, to increase damage).
90 fire / 90 bicheon or heuksal / 72 (or 68) ice / 48 (or 52) light
90 fire / 90 pacheon / 90 light / 30 ice . Only pacheons can afford to go max light at this cap, because of the arrow combos. It's possible to build a max light pacheon for the huge mobility, but I still like 72 ice / 48 light more.
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

What do you think would be better out of
72 Ice, 48 Light
or
68 Ice, 52 Light?

I'm kinda really keen on blader but I can't put up with build that can't
kill someone else in PvP, some people say that's bs, some say it's exactly
right. I'm not sure if they just kept the reputation from the 80 cap and
now it's not so true or not alot has changed.

These are the builds I'm learning towards right now:
Bich/Fire 90, Ice 70, Light 50 (give or take 2 levels)
Bich/Fire/Force 90, Ice 30
Pach/Fire/Light 90, Ice 30
Pach/Fire 90, Ice 70, Light 50 (give or take 2 levels)

I had a glaiver once and didn't like him so switched to bower. :)
I've never had a blader before, not past level 30. And also never had
a force character.

I guess not many pvp bladers with max firewall on...yeah immune to debuff...but the reason I use it is to stop there kd...yup 90% of the times bladers can't use the final stab on me..or any stab....
The firewall is destroy in about 2-3 chains or in about 4-5 attempts of kd...so yeah I might get stab once..so recast :P and I can continue what i was doing..Emperor,soul...I'm 99.99999% a blader can never kill me if I keep casting the fire wall...but I may not win depending on blader gear cuz I allow almost full repot after every cast of the firewall. its kind of sad that bladers most power skill can hardly be use at all.

I don't like the idea of firewall but yeah useful in some curcumstances.
Though if your vs.ing say a nuker or bow user then fire wall, they take a
step back you sit there looking like an idiot. but yeah hmm if your glaiver
and I was a blader and someone uses a firewall it's simple as moving away
and if it's in a job/guild war situation or what ever then get a mate to
totally wreck the fire wall then you have 2 people on you ^^ but hmm.
I kinda think firewall can help you defend yourself but can also take away
your abaility to kill or even damage someone.

Oh and Stress, what do you think is better

72 Ice, 48 Light
or
68 Ice, 52 Light?

Right now I'm most keen on these builds..
Force blader
Bich/Fire 90, Light 48/52, Ice 72/68

and possibly a bower of some sort. Probably something around
Pach/Fire 90, Ice 68, Light 52

Thats why is mainly effective in PVP vs bladers/2hand...totally worthless in group fights...and yes casting firewall does lower that chance of killing cuz of the slow casting time....but the point i'm trying to make is that a Blader probably never kill anyone that keeps casting max firewall. (or at least pure str) All the stabs become useless since u cannot be kd.

Oh I get what your saying now, yeah true. Though I don't think many
people do so I shouldn't have anything to worry about but oh well.
If they do I'll work something out haha.

I'm having alot of trouble choosing between
Bich/Fire/ 90, Ice 72, Light 48
and
Bich/Fire/Force 90, Ice 30
