blade/shield

so i just started a pure int nuker he is now level 29 going on 30 cant wait to get my nuke

so i was wondering if i can go blade/shield instead of sword/shield

or it change something cuz i think the blade or more cooler but will it change something if yes ill stick with sword but if no you guys think blade/shield nuker would be cool

btw im not taking any blade skill etc im following a nuker build with sword skill etc..

and im goiing pure int no hybrid nothing so you guys think it will be cool??

( if its not too late ) Stick sword because its more of a proper weapon for Pure INT. Due to the magical damage.
