most people tell me it is recommended to do so. im a str/fire and lightning archer myself, so the ice buffs do a little to protect monsters that u cant kill far away

What level(s) are these buffs (especially the passive)?

Pretty useless until 60. IF you plan on having it by endgame, it should be your LAST priority. That way, if they later un-nerf cold imbue, you can pick that up to as an added bonus.

it's not about what looks awesome but if it really benefits your char, otherwise it's a waste of time and pharmed sp. for example, i currently have a main char which is an int based hybrid sword shield, uses prot but will switch to armor soon and that combined with a good br shield will give me enough phy based defence, to compensate for the mag att based defence i'm going to solely add the fire protection series ... not only because it looks "1337" but also because it will benefit my char in the long run. (pharming nachals at levelcap for instance, but will wear garment then!)

yeah that's why i'll delevel my entire cold tree soon, which is only lvl30 atm :D

you can never have enough phys defense. Esp if you plan on going into the caves and not dying whenever 3 mobs attack you.
