Cleric: Basically Recovery Division, Bless Spell, Holy Word/spell. You need some levels of Faith and Charity as well.

Bard: Just noise and moving march

About which sub is better, i'm sure there's a big debate on that. Well, IMHO sub bard to be the king of PVE ( you move fast, dont get rapped my mobs ), in PVP your basic strategy is hit and run. Sub Cleric for more tanking power ( you'll have much easier time vs giants, for example ). In PVP, turn on Bless spell, and be a fortified cannon on the battlefield for 45 secs.

edittt: I myself had Bard, but decided to delevel it for Cleric and am loving it. No longer have to worry about those giants.

My opinion - get Cleric. Recovery Division and Bless Spell for sure. Optional Body/Soul Blessing depending on the mob. The extra defense never hurts. I wouldn't really waste the sp on Holy Word/Spell, chances are the mob won't be getting close enough to hit you anyways. Just bring pills and you'll be ok. You'll also need certain levels of Charity and Faith.

Hello,

Im a wizard/cleric

and i'm really happy i chose the cleric, simply because you got the bless spell, it says for 45 sec only maybe but with the damage you can give, switch to your staff fast after buffing yourself, turn on life-control and u should be able to kill giants without a single problem, without zerk ( at last lower levels )

For solo grinding go bard (far better than cleric), as said above pick noise and march.

Yes you can switch back to staff. I myself had Bard, but decided to delevel it for Cleric and am loving it. No longer have to worry about those giants.

ahh..correction: you cant put body blessing on yourself and switch to staff. it would disappear. only of you put on someone else body bless u can switch to staff back and it wont disappear.
besides, cleric rocks.
i've been wiz bard till lvl 70 and switched to cleric and i like it way better, since i have recovery division and the bless spell i cant remember the last time i died in PvE, and i used to die like 5-10 times a day while being a bard (was hunting always mobs higher than me). for the speed issue i use drug of wind or even typhoon if i do my 3 hours of gold time.

You can avoid tanking in solo grinding easily. Wizards can just one two shot most mobs if they are leveling solo correctly (against int mobs and in ideal grinding spots). If you find yourself having to tank a lot, you're not grinding in the right spot. If you find yourself having to nuke more than twice, you're not killing the right mobs. Doing alchemy on your equips should give you enough tanking that you do not have to resort to being a cleric (for pve). But then again, if it works for you then go for it.

I agree u can deal with it if you know how to grind, but it requires also constant focus. you lose your focus for 3 seconds and you can die cause u didnt notice there's a giant behind u. and btw, if a giant decides to run after u, no speed will help u in this case, giant can over-run anything, and if you are lucky and u ran away from the giant u can get unlucky and run into a another one ^.^.
Moreover, i think that if you look on the overall, the skills u get as a bard (speed (drugs), and noise (doesnt work on champs and giants)) against the skills u get from being a cleric, rec div, bless, holy word and others, which no potion or skill can replace + the ability to wear light armor for extra physical defense which wizards lack so much, and if you look on the overall on doing PvE AND PvP, cleric is the most worth sub class for the wizard.
