I read quite a lot of guides about nuker builds. I have perfected my sp strategy, but i am not sure what to put the points in. I was planing on a fire-lightning-cold builds. I want the fire imbue but i dont know if the bonus also adds to nukes, so if someone could clarify the issue i would be very gratefull. I want all three nuke types, maybe lion shout, and the various resistance buffs, speed buff, and magic damage. I am curious how good such a build would be in pvp, and if i should go for the hekusal tree or the sword tree (i heard that many people combine spear melee with nukes but i really want to use magic exclusivelly and not go into melee).
For those that dont want to read all that i will summarise:
-Does fire imbue add to nuke damage?
-Can i be a pvp viable nuker by just using elemental masteries and not putting points in spear/sword?
Noob trying to become nuker

- yes, same with other imbues
- yes, many nukers don't put many points in spear/sword; some may go for the hp bonus that spear gives you as a passive

Well, I'm among those who is farming again in his 30s, and I have the feeling that I get decent xp and good sp while doing it. It may not be as easy as bow farming at lvl 16 (if you can fit among all the other farmers), but it's reasonably effective. Besides: once you determine you lack the sp, just don't level your skills for a few levels, and the sp should pick up quite nicely again. Personally I went back to a 0 lvl gap at 30 (for my nukes), and after that just didn't level my skills again until lvl 38. I'm now lvl 39 with a 7 level gap, though I may decrease that a bit if I don't like the xp I get. I have about 8.5K sp left at the moment, I'm running up 3 trees (fire, lightning, force), and I hardly farmed at lvl 16 (just enough from lvl 16-30 to be able to afford all lvl 30 skills I wanted; I had 0 sp left at lvl 30 after buying them).

light will eat up alot of your sp, fire won't take too much, just the imbues and nukes, and the fire buffs are barely usefull for an int, unless u really want em, spear/sword skills will also eat your sp if you're going to try to get skill books, like the soul spear, KDs, Stabs, yada yada. You need alot of sp... im 42 right now and I'm just planning on farming to get my 43 fire nuke, then i'll deal with the other trees.

That was given
And the dream to vow
Forever to be the shoulder

From the eyes of one
Never to stain
