A plea to the members of Rome

Guys, I know that you're all frustrated over a lot of things, whether they be the banning of certain people, the locking of topics, the moving of topics, or maybe just anything else you can think of; but we all really need to just chill out. I used to come here into the Rome section to see some cool threads, like Rome's history and the recent winner of the Fortress War. Now, all I tend to see are locked threads, people complaining about the moderators of the forums, and people questioning the authority of the moderators to do their job.

Before I continue ranting, I'm going to give you a little information about myself.

I'm a moderator in a gaming community that several people have put together and ran over the past 10+ years. I've been a member of it for well over three years now, and I can tell you that the most frustrating thing to see on the forums are complaints that the moderators are being abusive, or doing their job with too much "zest". It's frustrating being a moderator and deleting/moving topics that don't belong in one area, and moving them to another, and then getting complained to because you did your job. Mind you, it is a job. A non-paying job to be very exact. Some complaints are valid, and should be stated, but not in an open forum where people will without-a-doubt argue about whatever it is that is being questioned. Case in point, Key-J's thread about OTL material. Yes, I participated in that discussion, and after I did so I regretted it, because I've been in Key-J's position before and he was just doing what he believes and knows to be right (sorry Key-J, I'm just guessing on your gender  ). PM the moderators with your questions or complaints, they will appreciate it much more than if you post about it; and you have a much better chance of getting positive feedback.

Continuing on; this forum really isn't a place to argue about who's guild is best, or to talk crap about another person. If you want to do that, that belongs in game, not here. I understand that it might make you feel better to vent about it; but this is not the place, the game however is.

To sum it up; over the past two weeks I've seen more complaining, more arguing, and the least productivity out of our section than I have ever seen. That's saying a lot guys.

Please try to be respectful on these forums, they are here as a mode to communicate, and they are a privilege, not a right. I know you guys are way better people than this; please prove me right.

I apologize on behalf of the Rome server for the problems we've been causing; I hope in the future that further actions won't have to be taken to keep things in line.

agree, if everyone just tried to think in a more positive way and how to be a contributor to SRF, u'd save us a lot of drama and benefit from being around here.

I agree with Goober too :P

Thing that really frastrates me is that during the flaming is going on, I just find new SRF accounts have been just created to participate anonymously in flaming!!! we never get to know who they are and they never reveal themselves.. just look, like 3 accounts have been created recently just to participate in those topics...
