Why you guys think you can turn this into your private little OTL, i do not understand.

Just be aware, that this will not fly.

Let's not have it happen again.

Basically he means that the Rome section is meant for Rome related topics only, and that anything that doesn't have anything to do with that should be posted in the correct section on SRF. :3

Well you see, the unfortunate thing is that i missed that thread, but now it is moved.

Also, it is not my fault that the threads are like that. IF a guild got banned from a union, and someone believed that this was something worth discussion, so be it.

Because that defeats the purpose of the OTL. The OTL is there for people from all servers to come unite and speak.

If we were to have each Server Sub Forum a place for those people to speak, it would diminish inter server interaction, and general SRF community.

Think of it like this, you find a new game called i dono, "Sparky The marshmallow Bunny"

You wana play this, cuz you think it's awesome. However, you want to make sure that your Rome friends play with you. Well, since you are new to it, you don't know much about it right? So let's say you post it here, and you tell all ur friends to come play it. However, they ask questions, they wana know details and a "user's view". Yet you cant provide this, because you dont know the game yet to that level.

Now, scenario two!

You wana play this, cuz you think it's awesome. However, you want to make sure that your Rome friends play with you. Well, since you are new to it, you don't know much about it right? So let's say you post it in the OTL, and you tell all ur friends to come play it. However, they ask questions, they wana know details and a "user's view". Yet you cant provide this, because you dont know the game yet to that level. However, along comes another user, who already knows the game, and has played it for much time, he knows intricate details about the game, and answers all questions, including some of yours. Seeing this, more SRF users want to play the game. You get a little phenomenon goin, and soon enough you have a whole lot of SRF people playing "Sparky The Marshmallow Bunny".

Personally, even if i was a regular of the Rome section, i would choose Scenario Two.

Edit:
@ ciddy, um could your re-phrase that in a more understandable English, one which i dont have to decipher.

Of course i can't force people to visit OTL 100%, yet it's designed for its purpose, and people use it. If you have personal reasons for not visiting OTL, then there is nothing stopping you, just don't try to turn this into your personal OTL. Besides, this was brought to my attention by a person who was posting in your Off Topic threads, and s/he isn't even a mod

Once again, "pasting English" not something i fully understand, but im sure that internet speak doesn't require it? O.o

I understood the first part completely, you did not have to elaborate on that, however now i understand your second part. Thanks for the correction.

Personally, im not a big fan of Internet speech, yes i do use it sometimes, but proper English is most definitely FTW.

Yet, you perceive me asking you to clarify something in an English which is more understandable as an insult? That is just outrageous. Honestly, ive asked people to correct their English countless times, it is not my fault, nor their fault that i couldn't understand it, i know we are all at different English language proficiency levels, but it's something we all work on. I mean, im not a native English speaker, i had to learn English, and im sure if i was to post when i was still the suck in English people would be asking me to clarify something countless times.

If you were truly hurt and insulted by my choice of language, then i do apologies, personally i see nothing wrong with the words i used, but in the future, just for you, ill use a more politically acceptable language :)

I don't visit OTL, so I'm going to miss talking to all my friends. Sorry guys, but I'm not looking elsewhere for posts.

Enjoyed reading the cool ones you put up about yourself and other things; guess it's coming to an end now.

Key-J. One thing you are missing is that we as a server are a strong group of friends. We talk about things here because we want to talk to each other about them, not half the damn forums. Our posts don't get bumped down by 15 other threads that we don't care about; and we don't get frickin' spam from everyone causing drama "in before the lock", "+1", "lolz, ur a reetardz".

If your thread, which is still active, gets bumped down, what is stoping you from scrolling down, and possibly having to go to the second page, if it's not too much trouble, to post in your thread, automatically bringing it to the top, and alerting your Rome friends to the post. Besides, im sure they would be checking it regularly for replies.

As far as the things you wish not to care for, i apologies that not everyone meets your standards, we are humans, humans are all different and unique, some will act one way, others will act another way, and apparently most do not meet your taste, yet i would not have it any other way, it is our differences which makes us great. True, some people seem to not contribute fully to a discussion, yet it is their nature, or their nature at the time. Not something within my power to change, i am simply a man, and Admin at that, but i am not god.

ciddy wrote:if only the topic was still here you would have known

A MSG telling him about that would be so difficult why? O, and possibly even linking him to the thread where i merged your posts, here ill do it for you:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=77710

Would be sufficient, not only do you have all your Rome friends, and their views, but views of other more experienced players, possibly even people who would help Goob out if he chooses to join. It's like a win win situation. Awesome!!

You don't need to mock me/us to get your point across (if you don't see where you mock me and or other people in this thread, then please don't even respond to this comment).

And you don't need to apologize for anyone else's behavior, it is how they act, and no one can control that but themselves. Sorry, I don't like to have "discussions" with 15 year olds whom don't seem to get that there is more to life than just SRO or post whoring.

Yes, I did see your original point in posting this thread; however it might as well just be locked since a; our discussion is not going to change a thing, and b; it's only frustrating more people.

Well, Key, the thing is, sometimes we want to ask the advice of JUST our friends from Rome, who we converse with MUCH more frequently. So, say we want to hear about "Sparky the bunny" or w/e the game might be, but we don't want a lot of advice from people we don't know, what is wrong with asking our Rome friends only? Sure, I may ask them some of this OT stuff in-game, but I'm not at home right now, and it would help if I could ask them here. It just seems a waste of the MODs time to go through the guild sections and remove threads because they happen to be OT and you think they should go in OTL. Like was said, some people go to here only because they don't like the OTL and don't want to deal with other people. The OTL gets plenty of traffic as it is. Besides, you know as well as I do that people in the OTL love to flame people they don't know or w/e. I just think you could be doing something more productive than making sure we post our stuff for everyone to see

I do see your point there Jack, see Goob and ciddy, proper English, straight mind, and logical reasoning do trump all.

The only reason why i even started on this, is because someone from Rome, who is not a mod, who was posting in those threads, brought it to my attention.

It is true that having one, or even possibly two at the most, OT type threads would not be bad, as long as they aren't used to spam, and they don't cause problems.

Also, im not forcing you to post something so that all may see, i just do feel sorry also for those in the OTL who don't join in the convo, especaially if its a good one.

w/e... i'm not an english major, so i dont often capitalize my words nor put periods in forums (due to laziness) in a lab-reports and major papers however i do.

untamed made the topic about cabal on a purpose to let other people know, cuz like what goob said many of us post and read carefully in guild section, then the OTL.
the first thing i do when i go is the guild section, read the check up on new topics. i rarely post in OTL and general discussion, again like goob said they are spammed with "+1, and other lame response"

any chance you could restore the topic made in Rome, for players in rome to read? cuz goob seen to miss the latest new for the new game we're playing/testing

He linked it already Cid, I read it :) . Thank you Key-J for understanding our comments, I'm sure it's frustrating dealing with people on the forums every day; just it seemed rather hostile for us since we really don't see mods down here much (keep it nice and quiet except for a few instances).
I truly do understand your points about wanting to get more people in on the conversation, it's just we don't know them, and honestly a lot of us don't really want to get to know them. We welcome people who come down into the Rome section and chat if they see a thread they want to comment on; but we don't go seeking attention :)

As for the other guys; the mods do their jobs, although sometimes rather over-zealously. They aren't paid to do that position, though they may get to see a private section, and they deal with the drama that XX-year olds bring to these forums. Being hostile to them isn't going to get US anywhere, and them being hostile towards us isn't going to get THEM anywhere. See the co-habitation? We all hate drama, so lets not start any more :D
