My computer freezes at random times, and on boot-up it will fall asleep at random for no reason.

I have no clue what the problem is, It will freeze on boot-up(1 time), playing sro(2), and when I was viewing web pages(2).

This problem has occurred last night and this morning once, last night it happened 3 times within 15 minutes.

I have already scanned it for viruses/spy ware nothing was found. I also used system restore to set it back before this began to happen. Neither have had an effect.

Any suggestions that could fix this? I just thought about defrag while I was typing this so I'll do that a little later today. It really sucks because its only a year and 6 months old, Graphics drive is up to date, and to my knowledge Windows OS is up to date. If you wish for any more information please ask. If anything it could be the graphics card over heating possibly

I dont kno what is too hot its at 66*C so far.(Ill update information as I think of more.

When the computer froze last it was lagging really bad only the mouse could move, Task manager was not able to be pulled up nor was I able to get to the desktop. I kept trying for desktop and to close the game. The computer began to make a loud buzzing noise where you send too many things at once and that did not stop so I had to restart it.

Sounds to be more of a HARDWARE issue, time to take ur computer to the doctor
If defrag doesnt help, and, if ur comfortable in opening up ur computer.. reset the MEMORY CARDS .. probably all other PCI cards (if u have them).....

How do you reset them? What dose resetting them do?


I just found a new number for my Graphics card tempature it reached
72*C (161*F). What is considered over heating?

It sounds like a heat-dissipation issue, until i saw the 66+ DegreeC temperature. Computer freezing sounds like the same situation when i had my old AMD 1.33GHz 4 years ago. Somehow the CPU cooler was whining louder than a jet, and 2 seconds after playing Need for Speed, it freezes upon entering a tunnel.

Then again my current single core intel 2.4GHz operates around 60-80 DegreeC sometimes.

So I'd:

1) Clean out the CPU fan for dust, especially those stuck between the fins in the heatsink -- blow out with oxygen cans bought from the hardware store.

2) Change the CPU fan completely, for a more powerful one (by a qualified technician, preferably)

3) Check if heatsink is properly in contact with the processor at all.
