2.0 shaders.

Is there any possible way to upgrade the shaders of my computer to 2.0 from whatever crappy version i have, because its stopping me from playing some newer games.

You can get a new graphics card. Mine is a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT which runs Shader Model 4.0. Got it for $80.

Pixel shaders are tied to the card/chipset, if you have a laptop you are most likely out of luck.
As for the program, that might help but I doubt it as it looks like it simulates TnL (Transform n' Lighting) on cards that don't have it. If you have a laptop I hope you have a dual core as TnL is very processor-intensive.

i doubt it would run it.
dell latitude D510. runs silkroad no sweat, but i wanted to get BF2. looks like i cant.

All you have to do is go to support.dell.com and put in your asset tag (like FGCWRN1 or something) and you can determine exactly what processor and chipset you have. The processor won't be much of a problem, more likely the graphics chipset.
