Hiho, i am new here 8) , hope someone can help me.

My problem:

Due to the steady "?????......error-messages" i followed some hints of this board.

I installed the "testdriver" for my PC:

Pentium3 933Mhz
Graphiccard: Geforce 4200Ti
Mainboard: ??but Via-chipset

And then i installed all the newest DirectX upgrades and also the newest graphic driver 81.98

Now when i play the game the game always chrashes because of an error caused by "ddhelp............"

Someone please help

This isn't a chat line, so can you wait more than 60 mins to get an answer?

What version of DirectX are you using? Have you tried reinstalling SRO?

I have installed the newest DirectX-version 9.0c of June.

When i reinstall the game, whats with my character?
Will my achievements also be deleted?

Now i played the game today without those "???-errormessages" and the "ddhelp-error" :)

BUT then the gamescreen just freezes and i died.
whats with that?

i can hear that the game continues working but the screen freezes!
:banghead: because of that i died and it's not the first time....

All character data is stored serverside, except your hotkey bar and video preferences. When your game freezes can you C-A-D to the task manager and shut it down, or does the whole system lock up? It happens to me sometimes and it's a real pain. After trying a lot of fixes and searching many forums, I've just come to the conclusion that SRO is a very buggy game, with a lot of hardware compatability issues.
