I am 100% sure of both.
However, I think it might have been Avast Anti-Virus.
Either way, I've deleted the client, and Im downloading it again. I'll post the results after a while.
edit: no more "???" error, but I've been getting another one =\
From time to time the game just lag out for no reason and show things in a distorted way.

wow havent seen that one before... i dont know what to tell you on this one, its so hard to diagnose because you have up to date drivers along with a good card and a new computer at that with good ram and other features i almost want to say its just the way the game is made and the way it reacts with the card but i honestly have no idea

Maybe my new pc is just temperamental.
By the way, I got more "???" glitches. Not so often as before, though. Maybe the storm's passing away? xD
However, I was able to see 3 glitches happening.
1. ??? glitch
2. Distorted graphics glitch (keeps getting distorted and distorted, once it starts).
and... 3. Blue Screen of Death. Actually, the effect is the same as "???", the game stops auto, but in this glitch I see a blue screen that disappear in less than 1 second (yea, I just can see that is blue, then it vanishes), and the computer auto-reboot for some weird reason.
So, I dont know what I should do anymore. Pray? Call a computer specialist?

The auto-reboot is probably due to a setting that is a default in Windows. Right click My Computer, go to Properties, select the Advanced tab, go into Startup and Recovery under System Failure uncheck the box that says "automatically restart". That might solve one of your problems.
I notice you have an nVidia card, when I got my new system I had a lot of problems that were directly related to their support software that gets install, mainly they had a software firewall that installed and it just didn't mesh with my system, it kept giving me a BSOD and took me forever to find out what the problem was. If you have something like that install it's not necessary for your video card or your system, try uninstall it or anything similar from Nvidia that isn't directly related to your video card. I just point to that as past experience and the weird screenie you've got that I've never seen before either.

Interesting. I did the first thing already, let's see if it works.
About the error screen, that's only the first step of it, normally those letters dont appear. Some screen parts just get distorted. However after a short wile, it stays like this:

About the Nvidia, it could be worth a try, but I have no idea how to uninstall it. The Nvidia came with my pc. At the Control Panel, I see "Nvidia Control Panel" and "Nvidia Nview Desktop Manager", but I have no idea how to delete them.
Either way, thanks for the help ^^

the only time i got a blue screen and my computer restarted was when i didnt have enough ram to support what i was doing, so try turning down the graphics a bit see if that helps.

It's already on low. If I try to put in middle or so, the screen gets completely destroyed. (this started to happen after the second log in the game, the first one the middle graphics were showed perfectly).
Also, that blue screen thing appeared again, but it didnt restart, so what was said there was that some error occurred on a program named nv4_mini.sys (yea, from Nvidia). I deleted it. So far, no blue screens anymore, just a ton of "???", and one of this:

I dont know if I should cry, or laugh. Or both.

Sorry for the double post. New problems found.
Blue Screen appeared to visit again, and now it didnt point out a specific program. What it said:
"Make sure that there is enough space in disc. If one driver was indentified in the stop message, deactivate it or ask for updates of the driver. Try changing the video adaptators.
Technical Informations:
*** STOP 0x0000008E (0xC0000005 0xB9E5EF7F 0xBACCFBC4 0x00000000)
*** ks.sys - Adress B9E5EF7F base at B9E56000, Datestamp 41107Ef8"
__________
Any ideas? o.o

I wonder if maybe you just plain got a defective video card??? Really, that's seems to make the most sense to me. You said you already sent it in? Otherwise I would suggest borrowing someone else's video card and just plug it in, see it it works any better.

if they dont find a problem you could always bring it into geek squad in bestbuy they can look at it and see if its a physical problem for free, and they can look over your whole machine for problems for 50$ or something like that, they found my problem when i had it, and didnt cost me anything

Well, they apparently found the problem.
SilkRoad seems to bug out with GeForce 8 series graphic drivers, for some unkown reason. It's actually around the net, just the stupid JM dont put that in their official site.
Well, I told them to exchange that 8500GT for a 7300GS, that they assured me worked completely fine with SilkRoad and was actually slightly better than the 8500 one, due to the "GS" thing.
Gonna get it tomorrow, so let's pray, huh =P

They said it was all GeForce 8 series, I mean, 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800, like that.

nVidia beats most things ATI has to offer
some1 else had this problem before, im pretty sure he updated his drivers, but im not sure
and dont uncheck the automatically restart, because this could lead to your computer getting blue screens of death and automatically shutting down(this happened to me)
but for your graphics problem, im not sure, but its definitely not the GeForce 8 series or GT models, cuz im running an 8600 GT atm, so its definitely not that.

You get the BSOD's regardless if it's checked or not, you just might not notice it b/c when it's checked since it's set to reboot automatically it happens to quickly, but trust me the BSOD is still there. I've had it on my system where it whatever was causing the BSOD on my system and I had it check to reboot created a vicious loop, where it would crash with the BSOD, reboot, crash, reboot, crash. It was pretty annoying.

Pretty weird. I was using GT as well. Well, either way I bought a 7300 GS now, they said it worked perfectly well. Let's see if it does.

ok this is how i made SRO to work on my vista with 2 dual cores or more,
first login to SRO, then open task manager
then click SHOW PROCESSES FROM ALL USERS,
then find SRO and right click it and go to SET AFFINITY,
then uncheck (CPU 1) dont touch CPU 0, then click OK.
that should work for u!!!

Hey there,
Id like to share my funky screenshots aswell, My computer specs:Windows XP
4GB of Ram
850w Zalman PSU
2x 10,000 RPM Raptor HDDs (one 74gig and the other 150gig)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
and the 9800GTX 512mb

Now in saying that, i thought my graphics card was over heating to the max
tho i went and brought the newest card out here, the GTX280 1GB and i still
get these funky graphics glitches.. Im still stumped to as what it is.. but will
post here if i find some findings.
P.s As for vvakarchuk's comment.. Ive tried setting it to 1 core, 2 cores, 3 cores or
all 4 cores and this problem still happens xD

sounds like fast overheating crap to me.

it could still be over heating, your pc case could have bad circulation causing it to over heat. i would suggest changing the resolution to see if that helps. if not dl a program to see your computers temp.

The Case temp is quite low.. the first graphics card felt like it was over
heating, hence for buying the new one... but im pretty sure this new one
wouldnt be over heating aswell... I never had problems with my old 7800GTX
So maybe what some are saying that the 8, 9 and 200 series arent supported yet ?
EDIT
Was just playing before, for about 15mins, was going alright till it started
glitching up again.. it got as bad as my top screenshot, then froze up and then gave
me a BSOD and then restarted... Im thinking its something other than the GFX card
at fault here, maybe a motherboard setting.. still looking into it

Well, i played the other night for about 5mins, and had a program called SpeedFan
running in the background, My Cpu was pretty much nearly on fire was it was getting
that hot, from about 45-50 idling.. to about 90-100 degrees Celcius .. So im gonna have to look into water
cooling coz to cool that sorta temp, fans aint gonna cut it
