i know exactly what is wrong, either you overclocked your videocard too much or it is just plain overheating, check if your fan on video card is on, btw if you run that much longer your card will burn up. just FYI

I had nvidia 5200 and i overclocked and that happened. If you dont believe me download a program like Everest and check your temps, i almost garentee its overheating :(

dont people want to overclock their card for better preformance? and i believe that the fan is on, i will try to check the temp but its says that Everest is for intel does it matter?

I havent used AMD in a long time, but i know it worked with my old AMD Athlon 1.0ghz, not saying it will work with yours, if not google search for another program, but it should work

http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/

Try atitool. See if you get artifacts there.

Have you tried the latest drivers? Uninstall the old ones first, use drivercleaner if you have to. Then install the new ones.

If the problem still not solved, I think your card is broken.

"Display Driver Stopped Responding" points to a driver problem I think.
You could deinstall all old (conflicting) drivers with drivercleaner and install a fresh new one.
If you wanna buy a new card i'd say 8600 GT or 8800 GT if you can afford it.
