Failed to connect to server.(C9) Yeah I know it's old...

I have never experienced errors with Silkroad before. I have no antivirus installed, I disabled Windows firewall and added the sro_client.exe and Silkroad Launcher to the exceptions. Then I followed the instructions on this site: http://members.cox.net/ddchen/troublesh ... spectionc9
And still nothing, even after adding the hosts and whatnot. Right now I can open the client and type in my username and password (with a little bit of lag) and the verification code, and sometimes it will say "can't connect to server." I got in exactly once but I disconnected right after spawning. Is there a better way to fix this? (Right now I am reinstalling the client. This problem started happening after the Pluto server update)
EDIT: The website also seems to be loading extra slow.
