when does this occur, like soon as you go into combat? also, does it happen in towns? I'm not sure if theres a bug that freezes you right before fighting a monster

I'm not really sure, back then when I had lagging issues I just got more RAM, (this was for WoW) but when I started SRO I also had no problems..other then that, I'm not sure what to do, i wouldn't go as far as getting a new video card. try lowering the graphics, small things like that to see if it helps any
Edit: also make sure you never run anything like torrents, or any other programs while playing

No, have the same issue and never had lag this bad, any type of combat, waiting for drops, moving, etc. major lag... then disconnected from server.

hmm, lag is a common thing in silkroad but to easy it up on towns go to options and settings, and take off all the names and stuff, also open your task manager and go to procceses and shut down anything that your not using anymore, cause programs like limewire don't close they just go onto your tool bar.

Usually when i started grinding that's the time the super lag kicks in then freeze and dc or if not my character will stand still and yetis killing him..

I bet its your RAM...to play Silkroad nicly w/o lag you need a good 800KB/s connection Downloading and around 1 gig ram..
