Do u hav silkroad already installed?
If yes, go to c:\program files\ rename or remove silkroad folder.
Try the installation again

That usually happens when you have an older version of the client which doesnt do auto updates anymore.
Happened on my laptop shortly after the euro update all i hate to do to fix it was redownload the client and it updated fine and the start button came up. Try that if you havent already.

Look on Silkroad.net
Tech help, FAQ sticky 3# try the things out there.
If they don't work then you've most likely got a virus blocking updates from getting through, as you can still connect to the internet via your browser?
