several people have had this error so far today
most resolved it by restarting the game
if you have already tried that reinstall (yes I said it)
unfortunately I have no solution for this issue yet sorry bud

whenever i click start
this pops up " Please execute silkroad.exe
what is the problem!!!!
All the updates are installed, this is the only thing stopping me from playing!

This is the second time ive downloaded the new client but when i try to install it i got a Please Wait... msg for about 3 minutes then it disappeares and then nothing happens not even an error msg... NOTHING.
I tried everything i uninstalled the old client, moved the new client to an empty drive, also i have 2.88Gb emty space on drive C but this solved nothing.
I began to think that this is due to hardware incompatablity however the old client was working well on the same laptop.
Could anybody help???

You have to launch the game , and do NOT push start .. push options and choose language english.
and then you can push start and then its solved , I THINK...

Shot at 2007-07-25
I have installed the game guard update .. client 1.114 i think , you can see it on the screenshot.
But the servers are check check check.
Is there still a server check ?
Normallly you cant launch the game when there are server inspections.

What to do if i still get:
This is a client file that can be used after Europe update. User who wish to log in the game wuickly on the day of Europe update, please keep the file client until the day of Europe update and use it on the very day.

I finally downloaded the Euro update (thanks to the links posted in SRF) and everything seems to be allright, the client starts, the latest patch got uploaded, the gameguard works... but when I should be entering the game I get an error window of the same type I used to get when I got disconnected accidentally sometimes (no visible characters and the data of my PC - depending on what button I click on it, it sends an error feedback to Joymax).
I really can't access the game and, well, this is quite frustrating after half a day downloading the update. Any ideas?

euro isro is now laggy took me 2min just to launch the game and get to login screen. but worst of all i am now getting the ???? error (which i haven't got in a long time) and getting dc and killed. i cannot even grind anymore cuz everytime i try i lose exp rather than gain.

When I press install it says SRO_GlobalOfficial_v1_110 has encounterd an error we apolo..blah blah blah..
Can't play all this premium time gone..I work too hard at my job for this shit. I just wanna drink my beer and play games. WTF.

I downloaded the game again (this time from Joymax' link, just in case) and... exactly the same.
I guess it will be fixed sometime in the future... that these are the stupid "normal" problems of everything new... and so on... but I'm quite frustrated and kind of anxious to start my new Euro char and see how it is... or even to see what's going on in the triangular conflict in China after the changes.

I currently have the same problem as the ones who recieve error messages that show their pc specs. Before the Euro patch I could play SRO perfectly fine so maybe it is some new uncompatibility issue? Although unlike other people I can't even get to a game screen, I click start, I see the gameguard load and the SRO loading then bam the error shows so I have no clue what to do. I'll post a screenshot of how it looks.
Edit note: Yes I HAVE seen the technical solutions and I HAVE updated my drivers but to no avail did it help at all... x.x

My media PK2 File is corrupted! The only thing I can think of is someone to copy their media pk2 file and send it to me via email at
sethevans@comcast.net. Can anyone do that? What do you guys suggest?

The game crashes each time i use teleport
it hangs wid no network or pc activity...
and ya the game takes a loooong time to start its not a prob wid my pc...

I get this but i put it down to my horrible M.E. OS but it worked perfectly fine before the update. If anyone finds a solution to this PLEASE POST IT! Otherwise i'm waiting for my new pc which is to be arriving this or next week

Yo! some 1 help me i ran out of ideas i`ve done everything on trying to fix this problem but it wont!!.
When i double click the client installer i get the famous "Please wait" little box and i wait... after my waiting i get the damn message "Temp Folder Error"...I`ve deleted all SRO registrys and nothing still wont work! :O

i get a couple of errors... first, it doesnt display monster names or inthe top right corner, the region names... and it lags and crashes randomly which is very annoying cuz i die a lot then...

Frequent disconnect
*Bug 1 When we play wth europe character we are disconnect at xxxx time.
*Bug 2 When we die and we go to ressurect in town we got disconnect.
-Bug 2.1 When we use returning scroll orbandit den returning scroll we got disconnect after the [Now Loading...]
-Bug2.2 When we use party match system,auto match we press [ok]boutton and we got disconnect.
Other Bugs
*Bug 3 We cant use [Withdraw] boutton for banning a guild member.
*Bug 4 All critical and block are decrease.
*Bug5 All the physique attack are decrease.
*Bug6 Blue message blue area is appareas sometime with no message.
*Bug7 When a GM speak we see [] [] [].
*Bug8 False price for do a job,its not 10 000 gold but 100 000 gold.
*Bug9 Spelling fault when you form a party [sysytem] intead of [system].
*Bug10 More Lag and freezing.
*Bug11 Many players says there had problem when they start sro.exe,they receive a message [server is undergoing inspection or udpate],if you have this message there are two solutions.
First It maybe a real inspection or udpate,look in official site of silkroad,this site.
Second It maybe you antivirus which block your acces to Sro.exe because he think is a virus,put off you antivirus,start sro.exe,put on you antivirus.
Bug12 Some players said there was stuck in the game and they were disconnect directly fater log on.
Isnt Bug
*After level 40 all thieves can attack a 1 star trade.
*Astral work only for the equipement having 4.
*Gap isnt increase its not a bug.
Regarding problem of europe udpate**
-First download silkroad europe [files shack or other]Be sure to have place in
you computer.
-Second when it finish open it,a message will be appears [wait please...]
wait between 5~10 minutes,after he will ask you if you want replaced the new client
with the old client,push [yes].
-Thirth Install the new client [make sure of save all you screen shot because it will be deleted][in general it c/Program files/Silkroad online ]
-4th When the install it finish close all window,and stard Sro.exe
make ure your antivirus dont block the processus.

inorder to get rid of the ?????? error, u have to update ur graphics driver. i did and it went away. thats the only fix. if u updated ur graphics card and u still get this error, something is wrong with ur pc.

Hope not because I have the graphics updated and it doesn't matter (and also it worked perfectly before the update). I think it's a Joymax' server problem... though no idea which one.

hello everybody,
i originally had problems with the euro update because i was using the official ATI drivers, so when i clicked Start, a black box would show up and that's it. however, i downloaded some ATI Omega drivers (unofficial driver), but then it came up with a d3d9 application error, saying that i needed to download the DirectX SDK. soooo i did that, AND made sure my DirectX was the latest version (9.0c), and then it finally showed the splash screen for SRO after i pressed start and after GameGuard loaded. however, the splash screen stays there for a few seconds, and then it freezes. if i leave it long enough, it eventually goes to the login screen, but it's locked up and i can't do anything except ctrl+alt+del and end the application (not responding).
anybody got any ideas/suggestions? i'd appreciate them. thanks.

same with me, updated my graphics driver jst now and it still doesnt work..
