message string error?

i am currently attempting to run sro china only version client on my new laptop. the format of this laptop is window vista, which i KNOW it will have problems running sro. but i followed a troubleshooting guide that suppose to let sro run on vista. http://members.cox.net/ddchen/troubleshoot.htm#vista

however, as i attempt to run sro, an error window popped up stating "Message String Error". i have no idea wat it means nor how to fix it. any ideas? please i am dying to get this problem solved...and no i cant get a new laptop cuz this is like the one i am bringing to college.

Make a double boot and install windows xp..

wat if i do not have intention of getting rid of vista...becuz my school works kinda need it...
