My Computer Won't Boot

Post by pherball »

I said bye to my friends, and then I tried to shut down, and it shut down (kinda) but the lights were still on, and it just sat there. Then I reset power bar (this computer still works) and it does not turn on.
HELP! I don't think my mom could fix it atm, nor could my grandma pay to fix it.
Aha.. I checked to see if power plug was in, and it appeared that way, but when i replugged everything, I tried to boot and it worked. Yay! Happy days. lol.

ive only had this problem with my moms laptop.
the reason for that was probably that the harddisk was overheated,
because after cooling down for about 15-30 minutes it started up
again. before that, we could start it up but wed just see the lights
and nothing happened.

idk man i never had this with a pc. good luck with it anyways.
maybe try out a boot disc too.. normally when something in my laptop
is farked, its my harddisk and it wont boot and wont install windows.

boot disk is either your windows disk, the one with which you format. you
can use it to see if your harddisk is still capable doing things. boot disk can
also be a ghost disk; a disk that restores your computers register and windows
files the state you saved them in when making the ghost
