SRO Crash

I've read through alot of the techinical threads and found a few that have issues like mine. However, none of the solutions work for me.
Here's whats up.
I recently reformatted my computer using Windows XP Pro as my OS. I re-downloaded and installed SRO. However, after clicking start, the game either does not load or loads to log-in screen before kicking me back to the windows and then freezing up (the program is still running, except minimized that is).
Basically, the game crashes whenever I try to start it.
NOTE:
SRO worked before I formatted my comp. I have installed all visual and audio drivers. I've installed direct x 9.0...multiple times with different installers. I've uninstalled SRO and redownloaded SRO at least twice.
I turn off antivirus and firewalls whenever I try it.
Still it crashes!
I don't know my computer Specs but they're good enough (at least to play on low). I have DSL. My OS is Windows XP Pro with service package 1.
Any help will be EXTREMELY Appreciated.

TO make things easier, when SRO tries to load the log-in screen, it minimizes so i see the window. Everything is frozen and when I ctr-alt-del I see SRO is "Not Responding"
? Any thoughts?
