well i'm new in this game.. I've installed it and all ok, game got auto-updated, nprotect loaded, ok. But when the game is going to be loaded i get always this error:



I've tried all things.. reinstall the game.. delete the directory and install it again, change the hosts file (adding: 222.111.150.111 gwgt1.joymax.com), installing graphic card drivers specified on the silkroad's web, directx... And allways this problem... do u have any idea about what's happening??

I got a penium 4 - 3ghz, 1gb of RAM, 40Gb free space on hard disk... and the graphic card is Geforce Fx 5500 - 256MB... i dont think its a problem of the pc.. until now i've played all the games if tryied in this pc...

If u have some idea tell me please, this game looks really good and i'd like to play it :/

Finnaly some1 with the same problem... I got it also.
I had this error before, and then a restart of my pc helped, but not now!

I think you need to install the language pack for your windows, especially the east Asian language pack, and anything that do for korean, under the unicode tab.

Go control panel, Date time language, regional and language options, under both languages and advance tab.

It may be due to a temporary problem with the Silkroad server. I see the number 9 in the error message: code 9 errors always have something to do with heavy traffic in this game.

Korean language installed, still the same problem.. :S

ok now i'm getting even more confused.. this afternoon i tried to play, and nothing, the same error... but just 10 minutes ago ive tried it again and it worked o.O game loaded, i made a character and walked some... after this I think, ok now i restart the game and lets see if its still working, I tried and yes, still working! but when i think, now restart pc... again the same error.. I dont understand nothing... what happen? i get the error, once i can log in, after restart same error.. im getting crazy :S

Like I said, probably server lag. The fact that it works 'sometimes' and not other times pretty much proves it. All you can do is keep trying, or try at a different time of day.

I have this problem now for 3 days, and still got the same... Tried to play Silkroad @ different times, re-installed it, booted the pc. Nothing helps...

Well I think I have found a solution, at least on my computer. All i've done is to make a new account on Windows. I had just one account with my name (can't play silk from that account), so i went to Control Panel - Users, and activated the Invited user account. Ok, after logging with my account "Marc" I went to Start, change usr and logged as Invited user, open silkroad and... IT WORKS!!!

Issue 1: my connection is ok, I can play other games online...

And suddenly it works!!! JEEJ I can play again. Don't know what the problem was but is probably over now...

I have same problem but, I have problem even before I can come to that error.
When I install game on same finish when I have to click on last [OK] I get this (I dont know is that normal):


After that when I start Silkroad.exe I got this:

I tried it on other HDD (which dont have so much programs instaled) but same problem! Once on other HDD I got error:

And I maided to get to that point only once again, and no more

Its not PC 100%, I instaled new video drivers, new directXc, changed to korean laguage...
Game works (I know) beacose my friends play, and I cant. It would be great if I could to hear something from Administrator, cose all things that are writen above

Check your firewall/router settings for the C9/Inspection errors to make sure your connection to the SRO server is not being blocked/interrupted.

As for the abnormal program message, close any instances of Macro makers, CD emulation software such as DaemonTools, Alchohol or CDClone, autoclickers, etc. Open up taskman and check the processes tab for 'ghost processes' of these types of programs, and End Task any you find.

Nope, again the same. I shuted all proceses that I could and nothing again, and I dont have ruter, I have clasic ADSL modem.

What GMs? This is an unofficial forum to begin with, and aside from Crayon, I don't know that any GMs exist. You can try posting a bug report here.

I just got the error Anarki mentioned in his first post. Started the game again and it gave me the server update message. Restarted comp and now all is well.

abnormal termination of games leave the protection process open...i faced this problems when i stopped playing one game(exit from it) and start silkroad or another game.. restarting u'r comp. will kill those processes..

as moogie said it might be due to some third party program which is causing gamegaurd to stop it.. a better idea wud be to remove all thirdparty programs/softwares from startup and restart u'r comp. then try to start the game..
