im back playing games so i switched from linux back to windows again... but it seems SilkRoad Online wont run on windows 2003 and windows 2003 server family? any idea? SRO dont support 2003 OS family? did anyone have idea if how... i dont want to downgrade to XP
thanks for advance for reply
2003 is a server operating system, specifically designed to be scalable and proficient in running a server. Why do you have it installed as an end-user operating system for home use? It pretty much turns your computer into a small-scale P2P network.
Try acquiring an actual OS designed for home/work use, and loading SilkRoad.

Those games work because they were designed using backwards compatibility for all OS available at the time, since most of those games were released at transitional periods in OS history. Silkroad isn't compatible with 2003 because it wasn't designed to be, so it doesn't recognize your OS, and probably refuses to install.

Solution: Get a normal Windows, 2000, XP or Vista. Or try Wine with Linux interesting to test.

Darn, looks like i need to use vista for this, anyways.. did someone already make sro run on vista using compatibility test?? no graffics error? heh wont waste my time installing vista for nothin...

Yes JoyMax Patched SRO for Vista compability. So it has to work with Vista.
PS: If you got a Linux system you can test SRO with Wine. Interesting if it works, prob not because all of those DX controls in it.
