hackshield problem

when the hackshield came out it seems to overheat my cpu somehow causing my computer to lockup, before the hackshield came out i had no trouble logging on and playing but since it came out it tends to freeze right after i click start on the character select screen when the bar fills up, any help is VERY welcome.
