How to detect Keyloggers

Last Night I was sitting on another game waiting for friends to finish up. I was browsing through this forum and clicked on a topic about a "Fake GM". I wasn't even thinking and clicked the random link....the address was "Drew Benton...Something"

When I clicked it, it came up for a Username and Password and then I turned it off.

I couldn't find the topic later and figured it was deleted, then found a post later about not to click the links in those posts being made. It also said that theres a program running in the backround of the link.

I played SRO for like 10 mins and then did a Spyware check, havn't been on SRO Since that. Would I need to do a virus check too, or would the possible keylogger be considered Spyware?

I don't see anything wierd under proccess manager, but I also don't know what I should be looking for.

I also don't have any virus scanner, I've been using http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ but its not loading for some reason. So if I need to do a virus scan, post a free virus scanner I could use.

Thx :D

No virus scanner is a bad idea. Go to free.grisoft.com, and get AVG Free. It's the pretty good free one out there.

You can't be infected that way unless:
You don't have the latest patches for Windows/Internet Explorer.
A box came up asking you to run a program or not, and you hit yes.

Otherwise there's not really much chance often getting infected. However, to make sure, after you install AVG update the definition files and then do a full scan. Also get Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) Personal SE, update the definition files, then scan.
