How do you show file extensions and change them?

At school they block us from opening .exe files, but for some reason not .EXE

My computer currently just shows the NAME of the exe file and won't show the file extension so that i could change it to capitals.

Example: Silkroad how do i get it to show Silkroad.exe ?

How do i show file extension of exe?

Lol. You won't be able to. Silkroad will install Gameguard drivers and whatnot to your system directory. I really doubt the school lets its' users have Administrative privileges to install the drivers. Also, there's probably some sort of Websense/Lightspeed Systems/Bluecoat Systems device at the connection to the internet that filters traffic. Don't bother.
