New Error Message while installing SilkRoad ( HELP ! PLZ )

i get this message from SilkRoad , my requirments for SilkRoad are like good . I got the new operating system Windows Vista Ultimate , and yea it a geniune version, not beta. I am not sure IF the error is because of my new os Windows Vista , because the error message doesnt say anything about Window Vista as u can see in the picture below .

There could be a problem with the files you downloaded so try downloading them again or there could be soething like your anti virus thinking it was a virus and deleting it i had that problem with a few games so trun it off and try again.

guys... i had the same problem... go to c:/program files/ silkroad delete the whole folder.... all of it... then just reinstall... hope this helps

ok i am trying wat u guys said hope it works, o and i cant even install it so i dont have any silkroad files on my computer atm. but i will try that directX install.

ok i did install directX 9.0C, on my vista but it said u already have a higher version of directX installed only updates will be installed. ( i have directx 10 it came with windows vista my dad bought. )

So plz help

i know!!!!! just run the install as administer... right click on the install file.. and run as administor.. you have to do that if you are using vista

If that doesn't work then do this

1.) Right click on the silkroad shortcut

2.) go to properties

3.) click on the "compatibility" tab

4.) There should be a thing that says "compatibility mode". put a check in the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"

That should fix it. It worked for me

However...It installed the program but I still can't play. Maybe it'll work for you. I can't promise anything. When I login on Silkroad it shows the character selection screen and then it freezes. Lots of people are having this problem as well. If anyone knows how to fix it then please let me know how.
