Graphic card issue

I am not sure wether the threads must be related to silkroad or can be any technical issues , if only for silkroad : Sorry !

Anyway here is my problem: I have a XFX 5900 XT on our ' family ' computer . This card needs a Power connector plugged in , very simple : just plug in one of those things you use for your hard drives as well and then it SHOULD work . Well obviously this is where it goes wrong , after 20 secs of playing a game my entire computer freezes.
Also when I don't have it connected it gives this error message

So what can I do to get the power connector working cause I know with it my graphic card gets much better results and since I promised my bro to fix it I really need your help =D
To my knowledge it is cooled pretty good.
Any ideas ?

What wattage is your powersupply, and how much wattage does your system eat up?
