Detailed shadows.

Hello
I play this game a long time now, and i was wondering, whats up witht he detailed shadows? at first i thought it was my GPU lacking power but now i have SLI so i am positive that that isnt the problem, i can play perfectly fine with perfect fps of 50ish per second on high (shadow:circle) but when i activate detailed shadow the FPS halves and its jammy.

My specs are
AMD 3700+(2,2GHz)
2GB RAM
ASUS extreme Nvidia 7600GT(in SLI)
ASUS extreme Nvidia 7600GT(in SLI)
Asus A8N32-SLI deluxe Mother board
ANTEC 640Dwith 450Watts PSU

so whats the problem, how do i fix it, can it be fixed? thanks in advance ^^ and i think i left somthin in the specs but what ever...

Wouldn't the detailed shadows put more stress on SRO servers thus making it slow?

i think not, that would seriously be stupid because its just somthing like putting settings on low. in short its supposed to only put stress on THAT computer not the bandwith use or stuff like that. and ive seen somone play with detailed shadow on youtube... so im curious why i cant do it because i think 2 graphiccards of (reasonably) new state should do the trick dontcha think?
