Direct3D? D3D9 Application? Help!

I just got everything installed on my computer (Windows 98 SE) and I started the game up, clicking "Start." After some gameguard check or something of the like, I get a message that says something along the lines of, "Could not find any compatible Direct3D." What do I need to fix/do? Please help me guys, I only got to play this for a little while at a friend's house and would like to continue.

Is your card directx9 compatiable?
ati cards 92xx+ are
nvidia cards 52xx+ are as well
Goto
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
and download the latest directx9 runtime for your system.

The problem might be that I have an Intel 810 Graphics Card.

I have same problem with Intel MB built in video card can not be diabled in bios even though it windows shows FX-5200 ultra uninstalled fx-card reinstalled it Gmae ran one time no error then restarted game error back.
all has been updated to current dricers and Directx9c.
fix is to get new MB for me..

SRO nowadays have a lot of problems relataded to graphic cards. So, make a list and choose what problem do you want!
Problems that i have:
Radeon 9800PRO:
With the latest Driver from
http://www.ati.com: GG Error 110
With Silkroad ATI Driver: DirectX Problem
Without driver software (Cathalyst): Runtime Error --> My Choice!
Without Video-card: Slow performace Error =]
