Windows Temp file

if you delete the contents of this file will anything bad happen to your computer if you do? or is that just for internet use? and also what are those file used for?

it's not a file, it's a folder. If you delete everything in your temp directory nothing bad should happen. If any software puts anything important that it needs in there, it's stupid and it's its own dumb fault if it crashes. I'd suggest using disk cleanup to delete the temp files though cuz it does a slightly better, faster job. Just right click on your main hard drive in my computer and go to properties and disc cleanup is a button on the first tab. It'll take forever to calculate the amount U can save by compacting older files. Wouldn't suggest doing that unless U really need space. Also would uncheck temp internet files in there because it will dump all your cookies along with it so every site will forget your login and stuff. If U wanna get rid of the real actual internet temp just go to internet options on the Tools menu here in IE and click delete files but not delete cookies.
