When I start my launcher and click on the start button everything works fine and the Game guard window appears and loads normally but then nothing happens...
I checked the task manager and it shows that SRO.exe is working but then it disappears after a couple of seconds.
I have seen ALLOT of people with this problem and no one seems to have the solution.
I tried deleting EVERYTHING that has something to do with silkroad and I re-downloaded and re-installed the game many times.
I also tried shutting down my anti-virus and fire-wall, but NOTHING HELPS!
I got Windows XP SP3 and my PC is not the problem (?) because I played the game a while ago on the same PC.
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me or at least try to help me with this problem.

What version do you have ?

I believe the newest version is 1.315.

that's weird, I downloaded the client from the website 2 days ago but it says in the launcher that my version is actually newer and its 1.317

ok i have the same problem but i KNOW whats causing the problem

its the antivirus software u have running coz b4 i had avast and that somehow blocked sro from starting after clicking the *start* button
now im using comodo antivirus and done everything i can think of to alow sro to bloody load but it wont let me yet just SECONDS b4 i installed the av sro was working fine.........

does anyone know HOW to get sro to work with avast antivirus? coz thats what i WANT to use *sigh*

Me too. Works perfectly with Avast.

Tho I did have this problem also a few times but I just ended the sro_client.exe process from the task manager and run it again and it worked...

I know this is a res but... I have this exact same problem. SRO was working fine around last week, but when I tried playing it again recently and it suddenly has issues and never properly plays. Messaged joymax but they're pretty useless so far.
