[Question] Did this solve my lag problem?

First when I started SilkRoad, it was really laggy. No matter where I went I would always have lag. I'd always get killed by NPC becuase of lag. And I always got stuck in the scenery.
Once I saw the post where ChangedSoul fixed his own "???" error by Disabling the following in his BIOS:
Video BIOS Cachable
System BIOS Cachable
Video Ram BIOS Cachable
So I thought to myself, why not see if that works. After Shutting down my computer I entered the BIOS. I found some Video settings and I saw that the memory on my Video Card was set to 64 MB when I have a 256 MB Video Card. (I didn't know if Rakeeb set the setting right) Rakeeb is the guy who custom built my computer. So I switch it to 128 MB and save setting and leave my BIOS.
After loading my computer and closing all programs except for EXPLORER.exe, I ran SilkRoad. It loaded fine and when I logged on, I had no lag in Jangan, no lag anywhere.
This is my computer,
Windows XP
Intel Pentium 4
3.00 GHz
1 GB RAM
80 GB HDD
Radeon X550
Do you guys think this solved my problem to the ultimate lag I got before?
