Serious Problem...Need Help

Lately, I have been having a very serious problem with my game. The problem is that my game will lock-up(freeze) for no reason, and when I am able to get back in the game, I find my character and wolf dead.
Now what's strange is the fact that I wasn't fighting anything when this occurs, and yet I, along with my wolf, are dead. So if anyone out there knows of this problem and how to resolve it, please comment as soon as possible.
-Please keep the comments serious, I am not a botter or whatever, just a player who wants to have some fun and create a good character.

This sounds like either a problem with your connection to the server, or a problem with your video card. When the game locks up, can you move the cursor? Do you see other players or enemies moving, and is anything animated, or is it a completely frozen screen? Can you get to the Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Del? It would also be useful to have some information about your system and your graphics card.

That sounds like a problem I've had myself. Does it unfreeze itself after a period, or do you have to restart?

The death is certainly due to some enemy wandering across you, because your autopot function will not work when your game is frozen and anything that does a reasonable amount of damage can kill you without autopot.

I'm not sure if it actually unfreezes itself cause I usually get very frustrated and turn off my computer. Mostly due to the fact this is causing my character to become poor and because it just started not too long after I got my wolf.

It sounds like the same problem I have, and I haven't been able to fix it, but turning most of the graphics settings down has helped. I have view distances, resolution and texture quality all max, and everything else as low as they go. Definitely some problem between SRO and the video card, although mine is a different model geforce. Next time this happens, try quitting SRO through the task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del). It may take a while to respond after you hit it. Then run dxdiag from the Start Menu, go to the Display tab, and test Direct3D. If my guess is right, all three tests will fail. Maybe if you get different error codes than I get, we can figure something out.
