Yes even eyecandy wise, a lot of security issues are on par though! but with W7 taking less resources, your netbook may be opted with the new os thankfully and this gonna be like the WinME-Wink2k fix. I'm not gonna judge too much though because I haven't got into full usage and tested all my games with but idc lol

No, with more ppl dlding the release beta, a lot of bugs were fixed unlike vista which i think had a lot less downloads and that obviously less opputunity to fix release bugs! i havent heard complaints yet!

I've heard good things about Windows 7. Vista was such a flop, as was ME, so Win7 can only go up from there. I installed the RC of Win7 in VirtualBox on my Linux computer, and I was surprised how quick it starts up. Granted, I'm running a quad-core AMD Phenom processor, but only 2 gigs of RAM. 1GB dedicated to Win7. I haven't done much with Windows 7 other than install OS updates and get AVG Antivirus installed on it, but it seems pretty responsive so far considering it's running in VirtualBox with so little (for windows) RAM.

I'm still sticking with Ubuntu as my main OS though. I may consider moving Windows 7 out of the VM to run it native when I 'need' Windows, but I never really 'need' Windows. :)

i love Windows 7, i had XP before and i love this 10 times more then XP, i don't know the differences from Vista but the new preview bar is awesome and work great, also like how you can click things to the side of the screen awesome feature if your watching something and doing something else at the same time.

Yes the RC is free until about June I believe. Around that time, the RC of Windows 7 will forcibly shut down after 2 hours of use if I remember correctly from reading the terms.

So, it won't let me update but I can overwrite Vista; will I have to reinstall my drivers, I can't find the disc.

You should be able to download all of your drivers right from the manufacturer's website. For example, if your computer is an HP, get the model number off the computer and search www.hp.com's support/drivers section for that particular model. They usually have all the drivers listed there and Vista's generic drivers should be enough to give you basic video and Internet capabilities to get online for this.

Why won't Windows 7 let you update? What happens?

Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit is not compatible so I just overwrote it. This laptop is like 2 weeks old so getting everything back on didn't take long. Only thing left is requiem & comodo. All my school work is on my flash drive.

I downloaded the final version of Win7 a week ago off of Torrent, it definitely beats Vista hands down, no doubt.

It does everything much faster than Vista. It's still a little bit slower compare to XP on gaming though, but Win7 > Vista by a wide margin.
