i have a vista laptop with a 64-bit operating system on it.

My screen will turn black when playing sro for any period of time. My screen appears to be frozen on a black screen and the only way to get back on the computer is shutting off the computer manually. But when the computer boots back up i get a system has recovered from a serious error and either ... Run in save mode OR run windows vista normally.

I have a HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr Notebook PC

4gb of ram
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics RS780M
250gb hard drive
2.10 GHz AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-80 Dual-Core Mobile Processor

I have also been getting colored lines doing up and down the screen when playing sro.. but i get the black screen more frequently.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Is there a patch for SRO for vista 64 bit computers?

do you have all updates for the os and hardware?
also is the video card getting to hot?

I have all the updates for my laptop. I recentally have put a fan underneath my laptop on high power to cool my system down. That worked for 5 days then the problems started occuring again. I ordered a new battery pack for my laptop and that worked for 3 hours before the problem once again reoccured.

problem with the video possessor maybe?
