So many problems, so many re-installs, help needed!!

Ok, first of all when after installing SRO I try to open the game and it gives me "Silkroad.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.", I managed to fix this by dling Manual Patch but now that doesn't work either!!.

Before this problem I had a problem with connection "Silkroad server under inspection or update". I read the solution to this problem but when I tried to save the "hosts" file it said "Cannot create the file C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file. Make sure the filename and path are correct"

First I need solution to my first problem I've re-installed/downloaded the game many many many times and It seems that it won't work! Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Computer Specs:
Windows Xp
Amd 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz
1024Mb DDR
200GB ATA MAXTOR
GeForce 6600 GT 256MB
--- I don't think it has anything to do with my computer specs ---

I really need your help on this one. Love the game, hate the problems..

Ooookay, after 4 h of crazy booting tuning up and so on it finally works... Unfortunately I can't give you a solution to my problems because I have no idea what I did!!
I was just booting - reinstalling like a maniac and when I was about to give up BOOm! It went to the notice screen and started updating!!

Hey congrats to you, you can now play. I have same kinda problem, reinstalled countless times. This is my last try....If formatting my comp and silkroad will still not install I AM going to go play WoW.
