SRO 1_180b won't install....

Hello all,

Have downloaded it 3 times, all files the same size, get same error everytime. Have played SRO for almost 2 years, never had an issue. PC is a Laptop and is kept quite clean.

It did remove my old install completely, and this last time I deleted the few references to SRO I could find in the registry, but get the same error. I get to the part were it wants to install, I select yes, and pick the spot (or let it try default, same error) and when I click it to start I get this error right away:

"SilkroadOnline_GlobalOfficial_v1_180b.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Any ideas?

Try this -
A ) If u have another system.. copy the downloaded file and try to nstall and check.. if it installs then the file u have downloaded is good.
-- If downloaded file works on another system, then do a REPAIR of ur WINDOWS XP.
-- If downloaded file doesnt work on another system, then redownload the file.

are you the admin on the pc? try right click and run as admin on the installer.
have you re downloaded from some other place? if not do so

Try these;

1. Delete SilkroadOnline_GlobalOfficial_v1_180b.exe
2. Go to your Recycle Bin and restore SilkroadOnline_GlobalOfficial_v1_180b.exe
3. Rename SilkroadOnline_GlobalOfficial_v1_180b.exe to SmapSRO
4. Run the Program.

It worked for me.
