Today i was having trouble with the SRO crash. i was so frustrated and then i started to mess around with windows a bit. then i did something and now im in the game fine i can log out when ever i feel like it. THERE IS HOPE NOW!!!!

1) Goto control panel and open the regional and language settings.
2) Then goto the languages tab.
3) Click install files for east asian languages
4) Click on the advanced tab.
4) On the drop down box choose korean as the language.
5) After the restart go back to the lagnuage settings and the language tab.
6) click on details now.
7) Where it says Default input language choose korean. *note*(This might get annoying for some people but dont worry you can change it back and forth because it will then set your typing language to korean it wouldnt affect you in SRO though.)
Now go to your SRO directory and find the following:replacer, SiklErrSender, silkroad, and sro_client.
9) For all of those do the following steps:

Right click on each one and goto properties.

Click on compatibility.

Click on the check box"Run this program in compatibility mode for:" select windows 98/ME

then click on disable visual themes

Repeat the steps for the rest of the files

I hope this works for everyone cause it WORKS for me...

by the way if you want to change the language back to english there should me a thing on your task bar that should either have KO or EN. click on that and you can change the language back and forth

i tried it... it didn't work for me...

Whenever I do that, was gonna do that for the OLD ??? problem. freaking ? gave you the filter error.. ppl had to type alt+168 for ¿

always asks me for my winxp disc.

I have tried this, and found out that the language change DOEST NOT affect the game, the compatability changes DO but they only prolong the crash, adds a few more minutes, Im starting to think that we who get these errors are missing something, that people who can play have (non-hardware), for one I think it involves NVIDIA cards having the most errors with the game, if this is true, then a fix must be created. I keep thinking why would it close each time after almost exactly the same ammount of time (if it was a hardware error, this would not be constant). I want to find out what graphics engine this game is using, I am maybe being a bit arrogant but Koreans are not able to produce this graphics engine and must have liscensed it or something like that, if so we can see if the original engine has any similar problems and might have a fix.

Its a great game, for a free game, and I cannot believe its doing these crashes

Has anyone looked into this error in detail? I am no expert, I can only think of what the problem may be, and thats how far I can go with my knowledge.
