the ??? error

TBH, I'm getting the ??? error a lot more since a month or so. Almost everytime I'm in town. Sometimes my comp even restarts when I enter town. I'm afraid it's

a) a bad graphics card or driver
b) bad coding

As I'm willing to give Joymax the benefit of the doubt I'll blame it on my vid card : GEFORCE FX GO 5350 with a driver that is like 2 years old, but can't seem to find a new one for it

Did you try to cut off your Antivirus Tool when u log in? A friend did it and it worked for him

With the part you said about "computer restarting", thats most likely your memory conflicting.

he logs in and then they dc him right away...

i think he go in a glitch or something

that was one of my first guesses since i installed a new one, but i turned it off completley and still not workin.

no actually it doesnt most of the time. JM has said that if you get it your drivers r outdated, but lots of ppl, myself included, update their drivers and still get it. its really this

yes, even wikipedia knows that JM fails. so we, the gamers, are forced to find unique and random solutions that work for individual cases on this the god of all errors until the ppl at JM get off their lazy asses and fix it.

Wikipedia is written and updated by normal users like you and me, don't believe everything that is written there. Don't get met wrong, part of the problem probably is Joymax fault, but just because it is written in wikipedia, it isn't the truth or fact.

guys i've got the same problem as you. its a error with your drivers software and the best way to fix it is updating your driver donwloading the features. if you use nivedia go to there website and download the newest patch. should fix the problem.
also theres a topic about it in news and announcments

ok if you had read the rest of the topic u would have read that that solution has been posted already and that i have tried it. IT DID NOT WORK.

well then its not a driver problem. my only other bit of advice is clean out your computers fan if you can . fixed my ? errors the first time it happened.

Hmmm you said you installed new antivirus right before it happened?

My neighbor did the same thing before he was unable to log onto one of his online games. He turned it off, still didint work. Eventually he uninstalled the antivirus program and it went back to normal.

My suggestions are:

1. Uninstall the new antivirus program, or any new program that has the capability of blocking anything (firewall etc)... in fact, I would system restore to before you installed it to get rid of any registry changes it may leave behind.

2. Open that badboy up and check to make sure the graphics card is plugged in snugly, not burned out or damaged in any way, and not all dusty and dirty. Especially the fan or whatever cools it.

C. Reformat as a last resort and start freshhh. Im pretty sure you know how to do that, but if not, send me a PM.

ok to any1 gettin this error ive heard that the mirrors the official site links u too are missing some important files and data in their download, so im personally downloading it from the torrent right now to c if that will make a difference. prblm with the torrent is u need other ppl on it for it to work, so any1 else whose is havin the ??? error and downloaded it from anything else should get on the torrent and we can all hopefully get back in game faster. even if u have already downloaded and successfully installed sro with the torrent pls get on it so we can have u as a peer, especially if your not even usin your comp.

somethings weird about some computers. like my local internet cafe their comps sucks alot and they can still play sro with a little lag. mine is better then theirs and i can't even play cuz of this error. the big difference is my internet is faster then theirs, when they play cs: scoure the thing ask the graphic card etc..

yup

edit: ok the ??? error doesnt come up anymore but now in about 5 mins it just completley freezes forcing me to ctrl+alt+delete

2nd edit: increased my virtual memory and im fine again

Haven't been able to play it since the euro update.
It gives me that same old ????? error everytime I launch the game.

I updated everything and it still doesn't work.
I can play the Japanese and Korean sro so I don't think it's my computer that's giving me all this trouble.

oh well, I guess that's what you get from free games. sigh.

i figured out what my prblm was. i had recently put on a new firewall but i exited out of it completley so i didnt think it was that. when i reinstalled it however the ??? error popped up again at the same time as b4, so i unistalled and sro works fine.
lesson learned: Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security sucks
