LAG Need Help!!!

Can someone please please plase help me, I dont know why I lag so much. =[
I've played the game over a year ago when there were only 7 servers and it wasnt so bad. Now that I've returned, every server I've tried is laggy. Last year I was on dial up and i didnt experience any lag, now I'm stuck with DSL (still got a year contract to go =[).
Does anyone kno how to enable ip to flow through freely through my router so things can get smoothen up? Does anyone know the ips and ports that i would need to use?
Or any other ways to solve this? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I have already updated my drivers and set all of the graphics settings to minimum. I relli dont kno what else i can do! Is there any outside files that might help smoothen things out?
Being a girl, i'm very noob with computers so if you could please please give explanations in specific details I would relli relli appreciate it.

you probably lag for the same reason all others lag: overloaded servers.
not much you can do about it..

no, mine is way worse =[=[=[=[ with 21 servers i'm sure the servers should be alot more spread out right? ... does anyone know which server has the least players in it then? but i think it's because i haven't enable the ips to flow through properly on my router but i don't know how to do it =[ help!!!

Wat Operating System are u workin on? May b u can clean up ur system and then check.....

But IMHO, i dont tink its gonna help.... as far as i've heard ... most of my friends lag badly..... gotta live wit it

uh i know how to portforward but i don't know what ports silkroad uses so umm.. lol what's the port =z

i use DSL - G604T router umm so many options =[
